Speculation Who/What DON'T you want to see in Epi. 7?

Are there any characters/groups/concepts you don't want to see in the new movie?

 

Yuuzhan Vong.

 

Almost any of the EU.

 

No Gungans. Please, sweet Master of the Force, let there be no Gungans with any speaking parts.

 

Yeah, I'll second that one.

 

Whedon-style characters and their jokey joke dialogue. Nolan-style characters and their growly speechifying. Abrams-style characters and their bland by-the-numbersness. Sith lords. Han Solo stand-ins. Death Star III. The phrase "I have a bad feeling about this."

 

I'll go with EU concepts.

"I have a bad feeling about this"? Seriously? If this trilogy is to tie into the other six films then that one kind of has to be there, doesn't it?

 

No EU stuff at all.

No Gungans.

No Death Star.

Everything else - go for it.

 

No EU. Certainly no Vong. No Vader. In fact ideally all new characters - would be great to have new droids rather than 3PO and R2 again. Although I suspect we will them, along with Skywalkers of some kind or another.

No gungans. No Ewoks. No midichlorians. No kids (as leads). No Yoda sonic the hedgehog type fights and as little one frills fighting as possible. Go back to the double-handed grip, as if the sabres are heavy again like the OT. Also, as little CG as possible. Understand there will be a shedload, but at least balance it off with as much in camera, real stuff as possible. Real Trooper suits for example. Also, no boring, grumpy Jedi. Make them cool again - like Arthurian Knights or Samurai warriors. Related to this - no council, office scenes. Bare minimum of politics. Zero trade embargos.

 

No EU. It's just not needed. And no cloned Anakin/Emperor! AND no Death Star III!

 

It will be like "come with me if you want to live" if they keep throwing it in. What was once a cool repetition will become a stupid gimmick. Leave it in the Lucas saga.

 

But from everything we can gather, it seems that the next three movies will be a part of that same saga. That line was repeated in the original movie and has been used at least once in every movie since, so it's really an institution at this point. It's just one of many repeating motifs in all the movies and it's way too late to get rid of it now. Maybe after VII-IX are finished they can do away it for future installments which will stand apart from the main saga, but I highly doubt it.

 

No children main characters.

 

Well, it is Disney now. Prepare to be disappointed on that one.

 

Maybe, maybe not. We'll find out soon.

 

Hey they didn't have Children as main characters in Avengers.

 

Boba Fett. A spinoff movie with him is fine, but he's been overexposed in the movies.

 

No infantry Battle Droids. You can have Droidika's but no Battle Droids. Also no Clone Troopers. Let that nonsense stay in the Prequels. No Master and Apprentice crap when it comes to the Sith. Hell, don't even have Sith. Have something else. Something worse. Since the EU no longer matters let's see some Dark Jedi's who make the Sith look like Girl Scouts.

 

Why must we start with these negatively posed threads already? Is it really any fun to conjure up stuff to complain about that we do not want to see? What about all the great stuff we could see. All the things we probably will see. The attitude of some "fans" is so pessimistic...

 

Yes old washed up actors past their prime! Bring on new faces, new actors, new talent & new hunger. No old foggies

 

Every thing EU....sorry ....and I did enjoy some dark horse stuff ....but only as what ifs

 

No annoying small aliens with major impact on the plot, Jawas were kinda funny but Ewoks got annoying and it wasn't convincing they could take out the Empire's elite forces.
No kid's flying ships and accidently destorying space stations. Actually, no huge armoured space stations at all.

Drop the midichlorians thing, that was dealt with fine but it needs to go no further. We know Force-sensitive people have them and that is all we need to know.

No Galaxy Gun or Sun Crusher, or most other EU stuff like that.

 

chariot-style races. Fart Jokes. C3PO. Lady Gaga.

There might be more, but thats a start.
