I voted by mail, as while I'm living in Tennessee, California is still home. I do not expect my votes for president, senator, or representative to matter. Both because it's a vote in California, and because it's got entrenched incumbents. There's a couple propositions that may go better for me.

Blame Tim Russert. Before 2000 we were on the same system as the rest of the world.

Meh, I like it fine. Gives a nice ironic twist to: "Better dead than red!"

My voter registration got lost in the mail. Think I'll just riot after Romney steals the election instead.

Would you expect anything less from a nation which still uses Imperial measurements, Fahrenheit, and standard 120 voltage?

I refuse to take flak about temperature scales until there's a country using Kelvin.

I wouldn't mind switching to the metric system. But for our trouble, everyone else should start calling soccer "soccer" and start driving on the right side of the road o_O

I first voted in the 2008 primaries. I've voted in every election since, barring a couple for student council. I like voting. I find it empowering.

I voted a few weeks ago, but I had some second thoughts on a few propositions and decided not to send it in. I'll be officially voting on Tuesday.

Honestly since I'm California and therefore the presidential election is pretty much a foregone conclusion here this has become much more about the propositions this time around.

this thread seems as good a place as any to confess that everything i know about georgia i know from rap music & videos, AMC's the walking dead, and arlon posts. the latter two sources, at least, seem to corroborate each other pretty closely

I shouldn't feel this way, but at this point in the election cycle, I'm a little jealous of those of you who know which way your state is going to swing.

Why is that a thing to be jealous of?

I don't deal well with uncertainty.

And I've got training sessions at work on Tuesday--participating in one in the morning and I've got to run a session in the afternoon--and I'm worried about getting to the polls in time to vote.

It's all my issue and has nothing to do with the rest of the country, and I recognize that; but I'm having a moment when it would be nice to know that my state would go a certain way whether I voted or not. And yes, we have early voting, it just hasn't been feasible for me to get there.
