Haha, my bounty hunter thread got merged so the posts will look pretty awkward in the collected thread.

I think that is the only downside of a merged thread, with posts from various threads being jumbled together; it will look rather confusing. I think the mods should think over which threads are the best suited to be merged into one.

 

Don't worry, we will. Ideally, we would catch the redundant threads before they got many posts but, when we don't, I think we'd all prefer to see them locked rather than merged if possible.

yeah, all you're doing is discouraging people from coming to the forums. which, by the way, for a "mod" is sort of against the point of being associated with the site.

the more site traffic, the greater the ad revenue the owners can make, so the more people you "ban" and threads you "merge" the worse of a job you are doing as a mod IMHO.

you should be encouraging use of these boards, and driving new traffic, not over stepping your authority and bringing your own "context" to people's threads.

i'm sure you see some of us oldbies showing up and think, "oh here are the trolls". have you ever considered that that was years ago, and that some of us may have grown up?

i see no evolution of the mindset at these forums, it's as if none of you have aged a day or grown up at all. it's the same old same old. overstepping, and hamfisting.

i mean, jeez, if someone swears, or says something that could be deemed threatening, i get it. but to just close threads arbitrarily and lock stuff based on the past is sorta ignorant.

 

Nothing is being based on the past. They're merging threads because we don't need a billion threads speculating the same bull****. There has been plenty of evolution... we've all grown up, and we've all gotten closer--hanging out when this board was slow as ****. We have a mutual respect. This board just opened this week, and the mods here were thrown into this role (they all mod other boards here). They're trying to get this place in some sort of order before we have a thousand pages of "WILL MARK HAMMIL BE IN THE ST???!!" threads. The only mindset I see that hasn't evolved is your, "mah thread got locked because teh mawds r fashiiiiiiist" childish rant.
