ST What would get you so mad that you would walk out of Episode VII?

I'm with you on that one, IsoBanValian. It'd give me the chance to sing a Star Wars Christmas carol and make it 'snow' popcorn. Quick, anyone got a Star Wars Christmas carol?

Nothing...I sat through The Spirit so I can sit through near about anything.

 

The only thing that would get me to walk out would be a bunch of negative chatter, all movie long, from a bunch of bitter, elitist, purist, EU lovers because they changed somebody's hair color from a noval 4 people read and now there is no credit to any star wars!!! You know, the same guys that complain about the PT not being "intellectual" enough.

True....cynicism does bum me out.

 

I'd only walk out if the theater screwed up and put on a different film instead.

 

Based on the people I know personally, and I admit it is merely anecdotal, the EU fanboys are a different group of people than fans of good film.

 

Well, the irony of what I'm about to say is that I just spent the better part of an evening being a punching bag for some pretty hardcore EU/Prequel oriented fans.....

But I actually really enjoy a lot of the Clone Wars era novels. Some of them are extremely well done. Above all, I highly recommend Yoda: Dark Rendezvous. Its probably the closest in style to the feel of the original trilogy that I've read. Yoda's characterization is spot on...he's a bit more of his old Empire impish self, a trickster. The Approaching Storm is another good one.

 

Don't get me wrong. I'm not against the EU or it's fans. There is just that small percentage of EU Fans that seem to put the books before the movies, and not the other way around.

 

Looking outside my circle of friends, it's probably more accurate that there are as many kinds of fans as there are stories to enjoy. SW's uneven quality is very polarizing, which really seems to split fans up into very specific groups.

...with everyone thinking their personal canon is the only one that counts.

 

Any songs by Randy Newman. Or Rihanna. Or Miley Cyrus.

 

Have you seen ticket prices lately? I aint walking out unless I take some furniture with me. One of those reclining theater seats for the living room. That said I would moan very loudly if they re-cast the big 3 while they are still above ground.

I might walk out if they have too much of the FotJ and LotF politics in the movies.

 

I'll storm out of the theatre if the movie begins with a shuttle descending on Coruscant, we see Leia approach and then Luke runs out of the shuttle to hug her screaming "Carrie!"

Luke Skywalker wielding force lightning... EU authors have done this, and each time I feel sick to my stomach about it. Bringing Mara Jade back just to kill her in the first act (that's just mean). Umm the appearance of... Abeloth, Lumiya, the Yuuzhan Vong, or Darth Caedeus (Normal Jacen is fine... Dark!Jacen isn't).
