Speculation Ranking the OT, PT, and ST

How do you think you'll rank the three trilogies once they're done?

 

I agree about the ST but can't believe you would rank the PT above the OT.

 

Can't do something like that until I've seen them. As it is I like Star Wars as one coheisive whole, not two or more separate peices.

 

Of course, I hope to rank them ST > OT > PT.

I'm expecting OT > PT > ST, however.

 

I have no idea.

The Original Trilogy would still top the saga I think, even though for me Return of Jedi is the second weakest link in the series (after Attack of the Clones).

I think history may be kinder to the Prequel Trilogy then the fans are now... I am one of those weirdos who think Episode I is the best of that trilogy (nostalgia, nostalgia), but after the first one's bad reception, Lucas very visibly restricted himself for Episode II. Revenge was quite good, better then Clones and Return, but still, I cannot help but feel that it was rushed.

Lucasfilm and Disney will be careful not to repeat the mistakes of George Lucas in the Prequels (although I love Phantom, I understand why it's so unpopular), so it will be different from the Prequels: better dialogue, tonally and visually closer to the Original Trilogy. It may get a better reception then I-III.

My opinion.

 

Seems silly to rank them as trilogies. I'd rather rank them as individual films.

EDIT: Especially since my favorite Star Wars film and least favorite Star Wars film are both from the same Trilogy.

 

I think the trilogy after the ST will be the best.

 

I wish they would do 10 - 12 as the ST then do 7 - 9 as the PTST.

 

The RBT? Agreed.

 

For me.. its SS (thats starwars saga)> than all other garbage out there.. I still watch them in 1-6 order.. I wish though there wasnt a huge gap between 6 and 1.. the technology advanced way too much and although the OT was the best character wise, and overall, I think the PT makes me love vader so much more. vader to me is the ultimate human character which is ironic, as he is also the most cyborg. The end of the OT you realize that luke is the savior and dont really think that vader is, but with the PT it makes me realize that its opposite, that luke simply was the tool to make Vader remember that he was supposed to destroy the sith and not to destroy them.

 

OT > ST > PT. I think the OT will remain the best and most popular because it introduced Star Wars, it's characters, planets etc. I think the ST is what brings Star Wars back to be the most exciting series ever created. It will also venture into new territory that will make us feel like we're seeing Star Wars for the first time.

 

Kind of hard to rank them yet, as we know next to nothing about the ST. However, I hope the ST will at least be better then the prequels.

 

Hope: ST > OT > syphilis > PT
Expect: OT > ST > syphilis > PT
Fear: OT > syphilis > PT > testicular gangrene > ST

 

I agree with you and think Phantom is the best of the PT.

 

Well here is how I rank the current existing films:

1. V The Empire Strikes Back
2. IV A New Hope
3. III Revenge of the Sith
4. VI Return of the Jedi
5. I The Phantom Menace
6. II Attack of the Clones

So the Original Trilogy is better than the Prequel Trilogy overall but I don't think the gap is as huge as some people do. I have always had high hopes for a sequel trilogy and hope that it is either the best trilogy or at least better than the Prequel Trilogy overall.

OT will still be the best. The PT still makes me cringe. I need to see who the writters & director will be for the ST. Right now I'm gray on the matter.

I just can't imagine the new films being as bad as the P.T!

 

The first and third ST are great but I thought the second one needed to be trimmed down because it lagged on the whole. But in the end I think the ST is jist behind the OT which is ahead of the PT.

 

What? No love for the Ewok movies? Droids?

 

How can you ask for people's opinion and be surprised when they give it? And how can people rank anything that they haven't seen?

 

Why don't we wait until we've at least seen them before pointlessly "ranking" them?

For me it's easy, anything with Ewoks wins. Let that be your guide...
