From the TCW thread, re: Saturday's episode:
    *achem*

    "Adi Gallia" is a title.

Tholothian culture, let's say, reveres the Jedi. Whenever one becomes a member of the Jedi Council, they're just another Jedi as far as the Order is concerned, but legally, in Tholothian society, that person becomes the Adi Gallia.

    This solves:

    -both "Adi" deaths
-Stass Allie's sudden, convenient appearance on the council. If you really want to be a stickler, you could say that after two other Adi Gallias (Adis Gallia?) died so quickly, she decided to keep her original name out of respect to her predecessors. You could also hypothesize that some political compromise in the recent past included a requirement that there be an Adi Gallia on the Council at all times, or at least for a certain period of time.
-also allows both Adis we've seen to have been born with the surname "Allie", more cleanly relating the different characters

    This somewhat improves:

-the Tholothian appearance/headdress issue. They could easily look identical to humans (or, if we're lucky, be humans), and the headdress is just something the Adi Gallia wears (or, per the kid in TCW, all Tholothian Jedi wear to honor the Adi Gallia)

    This does not solve:

-the philosophical issues surrounding Tholothians as another species.

    Everybody thank Jello. [face_mischief]

heh -- come to think of it, I recall reading that the Gallia part of her name is, OOU, a title in itself -- a reference to the fact that the actress is French.

Or, you know, one was just a clone... but that'd be too simple. :p

No, more seriously, I actually really like the idea. It'd put an interesting spin on an 'alien' culture, and it's not like we haven't seen members of the same race all having the same or similar names before in sci-fi or fantasy.

    Dorsk, Zathras, etc.

It also solves why she's on the council in Jedi: the Dark Side in 53 BBY, when she should be like 20 years old. Wrong Adi!

    Bleh.
Adi recovered from a minor wound on Florrum and then returned to the Jedi Temple. Later she was struck and killed by General Grievous on Boz Pity, and was succeeded on the council by her cousin, Stass Allie.

Given Obsession makes no sense that late in the timeline, I think you mean Savage killed her after she recovered on Boz Pity.

    :)

Nope. Ventress was brainwashed and went back into Dooku's service after TCW, in my personal canon, anyway.

I'm all for any retcon that has Savage eventually kill Darth Sidious and become the Master of the Sith.

It happened in the same year ergo TCW is before. I think

I saw "female Rodian who speaks Basic" and then "girl cosplaying as Adi Gallia who protests continuity errors" and at first, I thought you were discussing a couple of TFN users. Then, I reread it and realized that you were discussing TCW.

Interesting theory in the first post, but way to complicated. Although it is implied, they technically never actually show her die in TCW. Of course, due to the whole canon hierarchy, they won't accept something as simple as Savage missed her vital organs because he thought she was human :)

Sorry, but I simply can't take TCW seriously since it doesn't even work with the films.

Yeah, and? The films don't work with each other.

Allow me to illustrate the script George Lucas intended for the Very Special Edition to make it all make sense.

Luke: But you told me Vader betrayed and murdered my father.

Obi-Wan: Your father, actually, was a nine year old kid when I first met him. My master, Qui-Gon Jinn, manipulated it so he could compete in the Boonta Eve Pod Race.

Luke: A human being? At NINE?

Obi-Wan: My master was somewhat unorthodox.

    Luke: No kidding.

Obi-Wan: Well, I didn't actually want to take him as my apprentice but did anyway.

    Luke: What?

Obi-Wan: The Council sensed something off about him. He was also too old to begin the training.

    Luke: NINE is too old?

Obi-Wan: We modified things for you, a bit. But yes, Jedi are celibate--

    Luke: What?

Obi-Wan: Sort of, we can have sex due to the Council's rulings on attachment but best not to think on that. To make a long story short, this didn't work out and when he had a vision of his wife's death, he decided to kill all the Jedi including the women and the children.

Luke: That seems like an overreaction.

Obi-Wan: It wasn't even the first time, it turns out. I had to find that out from the local Tusken Raiders. So, yes, Luke I was an awful master.

Luke: I'm getting that. What happened to my mother?

Obi-Wan: Let's just say she died of a broken heart.
