Stover did alright by me with ROTS. I'd welcome him like no other I can think of.

I hate the EU, but I think the best authors are Luceno and Stover. Excellent writing - it *feels* like SW.

Just to be difficult, I'm gonna throw in Brian Stableford...just cuz I like his books.

Stole what I was going to say, this, totally this. DRESDEN FILES FTW! also that spider-man first person novel was amazing.

Continuing the trend: My first choice is Luceno, second choice is Stover.

Stover is the best for when crap hits the fan. Not really needed in the opening movie of three. I want him to write the second of three, when things are at the darkest.

Matthew Stover or James Luceno. It really depends on when Luke dies. If he dies in VII then I want Stover to write VII, if he dies in IX then I want Stover to write IX.

Of course that's assuming they'll get a different author for each film. My dream would be Stover writing all 3 adaptations and Luceno writing the prequel novels for them (and maybe epilogue novels too).

I think Matthew Stover's novelization of ROTS is highly overrated. If I were to choose from the EU-authors, there would be only one choice: James Luceno.

Stover for me, although reading Star Wars is a bit like watching porn, sure it's not bad but wouldn't you rather do it instead?

I read the Spidey novel- it's very entertaining.

So far, every SW novelization's been written by a different author. Maybe they'll continue the trend? If so I'd suggest Luceno, Zahn, and nominate Sean Stewart (he hasn't written any SW novels since Yoda: Dark Rendezvous, which isn't a movie novelization.

    It should be me.

I all ready have a 100 pages finished of a Star Wars novel and I know they werel keeping track of me at one time, I could see the ILM.COM isp visit my web page every day and they had print outs of my web page at a security meeting (but I think that was not about my writing but about a picture of Rick McCullum and Jar Jar drinking Bantha Urine)

Me! Of course I'm just kidding, but I want someone new. Someone that is not already part of the EU Fraternity so we can get some originality.

Terry Brooks wasn't part of the fraternity when he was called on to write the TPM novelization, so it's not exactly implausible.

It is about time for Luceno to write one of the film novelizations.

I really liked the set-up for EP III, so give the lead-in novel to luceno and the actual novelization to stover. worked perfectly the last time! though, in all honesty, I think it'll be someone nobody would think of, like salvatore and brooks for EP I and II

Since we have the spin off thread, the actor thread, and the composer thread - who should handle the script to book?

My choice would be Matthew Stover - he hit it out of the park with ROTS (I bought it the day it came out and spent the next few hours devouring it over endless cups of [face_coffee]) and also, would you buy the book if it came out BEFORE the movie?

Note this isn't another 'EU and E7' thread, this is 'straight from the script'... so few if any deviations from the 'new canon' if there is to be one....

Mav Edit: Merging with the previous thread on this topic.
