There is a 17 year difference between Gillian Anderson and Mark Hamill.

 

I hope they can get the old cast back together, including Billy Dee.
I would love Gillian as Mara.
Lyndsey Fonseca would make a great young Jedi/Jaina
Nathan Fillion could play anyone, I would love to see him as Leia and Han's Firstborn. They should have cast him as Indy's son in KotCS, he would have been way more believeable that Shia the Beef...

I like all the above, but not as the original characters. Get Elba, Fassbender, Blunt etc in but cast them as new characters.

Mads Mikkelsen would also be fantastic.

 

Well that probably won't be Episode VII... but if you wanted to do the Thrawn Trilogy and Dark Empire as a miniseries or spin-off set of films, that'd be pretty good.

 

I love your choice of actors, but I hope none of them end up being recasts.

I'll throw in another actor I've always liked. Colm Feore was awesome in Storm of the Century.

While it is illogical to speculate at this point, we do it because it's nice to dream, plus, it's fun!

Totally agree. The Zahn Heir to the Empire trilogy was the best book series of the EU...and each series after that got worse. That said, I don't want to see ANY EU characters in Ep. 7-Ep. 9. No Jade. No Thrawn. No Pelleaon. No Kardde. No Jacen, Jaina, Anakin of Ben Skywalker. I want a fresh start. I'm tired of everyone always borrowing from each other in the EU. It's become a fraternity where these authors don't have to do much because all of the leg-work has been done before them.

 

^You're right about the current EU, but I wonder how much of that is the editors at Del Rey tossing story pitches out because it doesn't include those characters.
(Anyone want more X-wing series books? Maybe set earlier in the Rebellion or something for example? X-wing: Liberty or something.)

I would be very disappointed if they didn't use Zahn's elements though. If you're going to use any EU at all, that'd be at the top of the pile. The thing is as I see the Big 3... Leia and Han's story arc is basically done unless you start talking about their kids, in episodes 7-9 they'll be secondary. The only member of the big three with a mandated story arc in a third trilogy is Luke with Yoda's message to 'Pass on what you have learned.'

Mara Jade is what... Luke's second apprentice? He teaches Leia, then he teaches Mara off and on for a long time... so if the second trilogy is about the rebuilt order she'd be a natural inclusion to me.

 

I'd love to see Scarlett. Only because I want to marry her a bit. I can really imagine her in a Star Wars setting though.

Also that looks strangely like her...

 

There's a HUGE probability there won't be ANY EU characters so until we hear more about the scripts a lot of this speculation could be unwarranted.

 

Yes and his first appearance is in TPM's novel, so he was created by GL and is a G canon character.
