Fanclub New Jedi Order / Legacy of the Force Fan Club

Every plot decision in LotF and FotJ makes me anywhere from irritated to extremely angry, so I don't think its a good idea for me to read either series.

 

It has begun...

 

The same thing happened to me lol. I'm about in the same spot that you are at this moment

 

It took me a while to do that too, but I figured it out

 

Haha, I remember reading that just as it came out, being super psyched about the-new-clan-Solo-baby after DNT and then having the urge to yell at the book: "Where is she?!?!"

 

You know, that never even crossed my mind? But I wasn't really into that series much anyway.

 

Why not?

 

LotF right? I resented Caedus' existence and Mara's death.

Or am I getting my series confused?

 

No you got it right. What about Caudus didn't you like. I never understood why Jacen converted over in the first place

 

That was just it. It was stupid and worthless. Jacen was arrogant enough to think that only he could save the universe and the fate of his daughter, so instead of asking for help privately from his closest family, he turns sith, kills his aunt, tortures his cousin, and generally is an absolute jerk. It might have been totally avoidable! An argument could be made that it wasn't avoidable maybe, but was the price really worth it? Terrible. Simply terrible.

I would say it annoys me (which it does) but it would annoy me less if it weren't for Traitor which EVERYONE except me puts on such a kriffing pedestal. Vererge was a crackpot who messed up Jacen's head and I refuse to look at it any other way.

On a less negative note...LOTF isn't that bad if you ignore the plot holes.

I used to love Jacen in Young Jedi Knights.

I agree. And really, that's one of the things that bugs/confuses me to no end about the NJO. Everyone waxes poetic about how awesome Traitor and Vererge (who shall henceforth be known solely as 'crazy bird-lady') are.

When I look at it, all I see is crazy bird-lady using the Vong torture as a way to get in Jacen's head and turn him away from being a true Jedi. It doesn't help that she pulls out the 'nah nah the Dark Side and Light Side don't exist! Its just the person!!' bit, which fly's in the face of every other established thing in SW...kriff, that's the one thing that the Jedi and Sith actually agree on!!

I need to stop before I get a real rant going...

 

Anyway I never realized how gruesome it was when those people came to Toryaz Station to assasinate everyone or whatever
