So I'm relatively new to the SW EU and I just finished the Bane Trilogy and LOVED it except the ending was kinda whack IMO.

Will someone please point me in the direction of some great books (preferably e-books but they don't have to be) with good Sith and or Jedi action (its what I loved about the Bane Trilogy)?

    Thanks in advance!

There's the comic literally entitled Jedi vs Sith, which is awesome.

Darth Maul: Death Sentence is a fun, action packed comic that's all about Maul and Savage killing things. Knight Errant is about one Jedi in a galaxy full of bickering Sith. The TOR books- Deceived, Fatal Alliance, Revan and the soon-to-be-released Annihilation, by the same author as the Bane trilogy- all feature Jedi vs Sith action as well.

I'm sure there are others I'm missing, but those are some good ones.

Perfect; thanks for the quick reply! Do the TOR books start with ”Deceived?"
    Thanks,

Publication order is Fatal Alliance, Deceived, Revan, and Annihilation, which comes out this week I believe.

Interestingly enough, chronological order is reversed: Revan first (I'd only recommend reading this if you have played the game Knights of the Old Republic and want to know what happened to Revan. It's by the same writer as the Bane trilogy, if you're interested), then Deceived hundreds of years later (some good fight scenes in there, my personal favorite of the TOR novels), then Fatal Alliance a few decades later (very action packed book, though it only has a bit of Jedi vs Sith). I'm not sure where Annihilation falls in there, but it's basically about a secret agent that has untrained Force powers, so I'm not sure how much Jedi vs Sith is in there. However, he's related to Revan, and the Sith are the main enemy, so I'd expect to see some.

Bro if you want to be absolutely saturated with Jedi on Sith action, and I MEAN SATURATED read Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse, Jedi vs. Sith duel on top of jedi and sith duel, its JAMPACKED!

I would recomend staying away from the TOR novels imho they are pretty cheaply written, they seem like they were written for 14 year old boys. Now Apocalypse isn't great quality but its superior to TOR books like Decieved or sadly even Revan.

I'd say the reverse, stay away from FoTJ, but the TOR books are good for some action, deceived has a really good fight.

If you don't care about plot or characters and just want jedi fighting Sith then FotJ lots of Luke killing Sith, but LotF has a couple good duels so I would read them before FotJ.

The TOR books are all standalone and can be read by themselves like the Bane Trilogy, so any of those are easy reads without requiring "existing knowledge" of Characters X, Y or Z (with the exception of Revan, which you really will want to have played KOTOR1 for first). Red Harvest may possibly be another option, as it's about a zombie virus at a Sith Academy, and a Jedi who is trying to get inside and rescue someone.

The Lost Tribe ebooks are all about a bunch of Sith stabbing each other in the back, so if you enjoyed the rivalry between Bane and Zannah, you might enjoy those as well as they're very well written and -- better yet -- free to download.

I'll at a note of caution about FOTJ, as Fate of the Jedi is heavily built off other Post-ROTJ EU, so if you're unfamiliar with any other stories, you might find you don't follow a lot of it as easily as some of the other books suggested. There's also a lot of senate politics and fleet battles, so it depends whether you're interested in the "whole experience" or just want something specifically about Jedi vs Sith, which is only one part of FOTJ, not the whole thing like in the Bane books.

Seriously, you guys. Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter and Plagueis.

Also, I'd grab Crosscurrent and Riptide while I was at it.;)

I thought about Plagueis, but wondered if it's likely to appeal to Bane Trilogy fans as much, as it's more about the philosophy than the combat scenes.

Crosscurrent and Riptide are great suggestions though, yeah.

Plagueis isn't wall to wall action true but the title of the thread read Sith and or Jedi action. Plagueis is Sith action of the mind! I can't not suggest that book. to new readers.

I liked the DB trilogy and really enjoyed Plagueis, although I do find the politics in Game Of Thrones very interesting, so what evers.

Personally, you're probably better off reading TOR: Revan if you haven't played the KOTOR games. At least that way you don't have a solid base in those games for that sorry excuse for a book to ruin.

(yes, I'm bitter...but its just IMO)

It should be pointed out that the last third of Path of Destruction basically retells the events from this comic.

I will be honest. I keep misreading this topic's title as "Good **** and Jedi Action Please!"

I am not proud of that.

    You may carry on.

"Good Sith and Jedi action" sounds like an ad for Force user porn.

It is true, but there are enough differences that I would highly recommend reading it regardless if you've read POD. Different plot elements, and the story is told very differently; as some others have noted on this forum, POD just doesn't have the same "end of the world" feel.

Oh, I would highly recommend it too, it's one of my favorite TPBs. I just thought the OP should know some of it's going to be a bit familiar.. :p

Let me just say wow and thanks to everyone who just gave me their suggestions and reasoning behind them! I literally had no idea everyone would be so involved; seems like a great community and I'll think I'll hang around!

So, I've started the Thrawn trilogy and I'm 9 chapters in to Heir to the Empire and kinda unimpressed so far. Hopefully its just slow going but will pick up? If not, I'm definitely gonna start on your great recommendations!

    Thanks again,
    Reef

Depends on what you're looking for. The Thrawn trilogy definitely doesn't have any Jedi vs Sith stuff, though it does have a pretty good battle between Force users at the end of the last book. I'd say if you're not into it by the end of the first book, it's safe to say you're not a fan.

Thanks, thinking this Thrawn trilogy is not my thing... but I will at least finish the book.
