Yes because god forbid there's an actress who doesn't have fake breasts. Whatever is the world coming to these days.

^ THIS. Ugh, comments on a woman's degree of curves rather than her acting ability are flat-out disgusting.

Yeah, well... so does Natalie Portman but she's a great actress as well.

The bottom line is... you look at Padme, you look at Leia, you could see Knightley as a character who could be related to both... and we've seen in the Pirates movies that she can handle the tough girl role that would be needed for Jaina Solo.

IMO she'd be absolutely perfect for it!

If the ST has a female Skywalker descendent in it at all (even if she's not called Jaina), Kiera is the perfect fit for the role because of her resemblance to Natalie Portman and her previous experience with the franchise in TPM in the bit role of one of Padme's decoys.

Well if we're looking for an age appropriate Mara Jade to play against Hamill:

Nine years age difference, but you get my point.

I like Julianne Moore, but she doesn't seem like she'd fit the SW franchise.

If they did have Mara in the ST, I think Patricia Tallman (of Babylon 5 fame) would be a much better fit than Moore.

Yeah, agreed, Julianne Moore doesn't fit the franchise.

Oooooh I'm a big fan of the NOTLD remake by Tom Savini, so you got my attention there. But my point was that Mara Jade wouldn't be some 30 something starlet in a black leather jumpsuit. But yeah, Patricia Tallman FTW.

She was Barbara, the lead character in Night of the Living Dead 1990. A rather badass zombie killer. She also has a long resume of stunt work, so she can certainly handle a lightsaber.

Whoa, hey! Pat Tallman's a great idea (if they do Mara Jade, that is). For another role, maybe Cobie Smulders for Jaina Solo...

Hey... apparently I'm not the first to make the Keira Knightley/Jaina Solo connection... Apart from the questionable photoshop skills and the misspelling of her name... not bad!

She said that herself though. She loved the costumes in POTC because they made her "knockers" look big and then the King Arthur costume went and showed they were tiny.

At least it shows she is a grounded and sensible girl. Never bother with plastic surgery or that muck.

The thing is her characters are always really annoying birds, except in the first POTC where she played a classic swashbuckler wench, and Atonement.

As She Who Must Not Be Named has just rightly pointed out though, I most definately would though.

I'm adding Romala Garai to the list too.

And I can't believe I haven't thrown Ian McShane's name in too.

Heck, all then Deadwood types could slot in nicely.

I think Titus Welliver would be great as a spy - top man for impersonations.

I think Joss Whedon is adding him to the S.H.I.E.L.D. cast

Kiera Knightly's already been in Star Wars though. That'd be like if they cast Jake Lloyd in these new movies.

Disagree completely. She played a bit part as a background character that got little to no notice.

It's like when you get an Anthony Daniels cameo in the bar on Coruscant. Only her first bit part would be the comparable cameo.

Yes, I understand your point of view, Miana, but that wouldn't really be a good factor in the decision making. It was such a small role anyway and you never really she enough to know that she isn't Amidala.

Not very many people even know Knightley is in it. It is in the realms of movie trivia now.

Casting her wouldn't affect the continuity. I mean I know it's her and yet I constantly forgetting it her.:)

There was similar thinking amongst Googlers when Chris Evans auditioned for Captain America. Many said he couldn't be Cap because he had played Johnny Storm.

    Thankfully Marvel didn't concur.

I thought Moore was much younger than that.

Six Degrees game - no googling or IMBD.

Connect Julianne Moore to Star Wars.

She doesn't typically do Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre flicks; the only movies she's been in that I can think of that are of that genre are Children of Men and Jurassic Park: The Lost World.
