It would sort of defeat the purpose of most of the movie series so far, wouldn't it?

How about... "Luke/Leia/or Skywalker/Solo offspring" have nightmares about Vader. Because Anakin returned at the end, they want/need to know more about why he turned or some other mystery. Would be a cool way to see Vader in his mechanical prime being a badass Sith, etc. Although, might be hard to do flashback stuff in a Star Wars movie. There are ways to do Vader without it being Vader. Dagobah dark side tree?

Or they can slingshot around the Coruscant sun in the Millenium Falcon to go back in time...

    I keed, I keed.

Only way I could see Vader appearing in the ST is in a scene similar to the cave on Dagobah.

Cave in Dagobah type scene might not be so bad, if one of Vader's grandchildren is teetering on the edge.

Yet another "it's been done before" scenario but it could probably be pulled off without being too cliche.

Maybe this is just their way of saying Anakin will show up. Maybe they are just trying to be cheeky, or maybe the insider doesn't know the difference between Anakin and Vader.

Would Vader coming back really be that bad? Is it really a game changer?? I really don't think so and would argue that it might set a more definitive benchmark in launching this next trilogy if Vader IS in it, although sparingly. Think of a potential Episode VII that not only continues the saga of the OT approx. 30 years later after ROTJ, but also fills in some of the gaps in the OT at the same time with Vader. Many would agree that Vader was fairly one-dimensional in New Hope and ROTJ, and shined in ESB. Is it not possible to effectively use the "flashback" device in revisiting the OT with Vader in Ep. VII? Maybe fill in some holes, get some insight into other OT's characters through those flashbacks, and then expand upon those insights into the new trilogy? Perhaps use this device to help make sense of what is happening in the new trilogy after an absence off the screen since ROTJ? I am not saying bring Vader back ALIVE in this new trilogy, but instead, through flashback, bring him back to further develop the characters and the universe they inhabit in "new" scenes with Vader that we have NEVER seen before. Think of them as having been edited out and left on the cutting room floor when the OT rolled out. Just a few NEW scenes of Vader, for example, with old Luke waking from a nightmare(?) of him as young Luke with Vader having some discussion or confrontation that expanded or "filled-in" some of the time during the OT. The important thing, however, in this Vader "expansion" is that it must be relevant to Episode VII and NOT just used as a throwaway market grab. Just a thought.....

That wouldn't make sense because nobody else's father was Darth Vader.

    Oh wait...

They could edit out Vader's ghost at the end of ROTJ.

Maybe Luke and the Emperor Clone killed a Vader clone.

Maybe the Vader clone killed the Emperor clone.

Horrible Idea. Although from the purely cash prospective it makes some sense. Still it would most likely be a fake or a clone. But yeah going to need a really good story reason.

If they can resurrect vampire Spike back to life in Angel, since he died in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then why not bring back Vader, the Emperor, Windu, Maul, & anybody else who is really cool.

Yes, let's just bring back all the cool characters and throw out the whole mythology and character arcs of the saga. We'll make lots of CA$H!

I would love to see vader back -but only if the new films were set around the same time as A new Hope, Empire and Jedi.

Half the characters from the originals are still available! (Due to costumes/being a puppet) Vader, The Emperor, Yoda, C3PO, R2-D2, Boba Fett, Chewbacca, Admiral Ackbar, Strormtroopers etc etc etc

You would just need new main characters!

*** Remember that horrible Star Wars rumor about time travel -maybe some of the new characters can "go back in time" ***
