Rick, I'll have you know my stomach constantly burns from the muscle supporting my voice, and when learning techniques my vocal cords often get damaged and swollen.

I am actually underweight, many opera singers are normal weight.

 

Some opera does have shrieking, but only because it is called for - for example, sad ladies. For every shriek, there is an amazingly rich, velvety, beautiful, sonorous voice.

I also can't explain how karking difficult it is to dance ballet well.
Part of the reason high notes and ballet are attractive is because of how well someone can make something hard seem effortless. That's skill.

I don't even sing in the shower I'm so bad at it. So I'm with AV. Dancing and singing are very different skills. Bull****ting is a very difficult skill too.
