"Beerfest". I still find it hard to believe that the Irish wouldn't have lasted longer in a drinking competition.

And my cousin got his older brother Das Boot for Christmas.

Skyfall. Simply excellent. Best 007 movie I've ever seen and probably will ever see.

My wife and I saw Skyfall yesterday. Very good!

I actually said "yeeah!" outloud when 007 opens the garage to reveal the DB5.

It's better than the third film, in my opinion.

Always good to hear then and anything is better than the second one.

I liked the second one. Small self contained film. I liked the second better than the third. The Roughnecks cartoon is better than either of those.

Just finished a double feature in my den:

Moonrise Kingdom - I liked it.

Dark Shadows - I enjoyed it.

Moonrise was the more memorable of the two.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 - I know some people find this film too slow, but I think it's gorgeous. It really sets up the necessary attachments and scenarios before the final film. I wish they'd split more of the books into two films.

Skyfall- Definitely in contention for both my favorite Bond film and the best one. I need to see some of my favorites (Casino Royale, Goldeneye, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger) again before I'd really be able to make a comparison. But needless to say, Skyfall definitely lived up to the potential I thought it had.

Just watched this for the first time yesterday. I thought it quite good. Faithful to the book without just being a lifeless carbon copy (a la Sorcerer's Stone).

The Holiday (for about the fourth time). It's silly, but it's also sweet and happy, and a fun diversion.

Another cheesy "The Ring" ripoff: Pulse, starring Kristen Bell, on "syfy" last night. I don't even remember this movie coming out in 06. More grainy b/w video ghosts. The horror movie memes we know are supposed to be creepy because we've seen them in other horror movies.

Horror movie plot logic: Ghosts are supernatural. Technology seems supernatural to most of us. Therefore the two are basically interchangeable. Boo!

i would like to hear your thoughts for sure. the trailers make it look really over the top, almost like a theatrical production, and i haven't really been a fan of a lot of recent spielberg. daniel day lewis is consistently amazing though so i'm torn.
