Is there any doubt that Star Wars is THE alpha dog of entertainment franchises?

Well, as for Indy 4 I've read that there were better scripts out there. Also, the addition of Shia Lebouf was a HUGE mistake. Whoever made that call -- I'm guessing Speilberg (through Transformers) really effed up BIG TIME!

As for Disney, the Tron movies are just bad.

Passing the baton in this case is organic as Lucas always intended for the series to be generational as he's said many times. KK just needs to be careful about casting and I suggests she start with our thread about the female Jedi. :p

I'm loving the fact that it's all original trilogy imagery being used everywhere now instead of prequel stuff... great getting that "old school"Star Wars vibe again :)

Two to three a YEAR? Are we sure they didnt misquote the statement of " a new movie every two to three years" from the original announcement a few weeks ago? Two or three a year is way unrealistic and frankly I hope it is not true because I was looking forward to a slow buildup to each movie over the course or the next 7-9 years instead of them blowing their wad in 2015 and 2016. Slow down! LOL

I disagree. In the case of sequels its more about quality of story and less on whether the original actor reprises their original role.

I don't think they mean 2 or 3 SW movies a year. I think they mean producing 2-3 movies per year in general - meaning we'll see LF branch out into new stuff. That was my interpretation of the quote.

Of course, EW could have made a mistake or misquoted KK. *shrugs*

I like the cover and it's fitting that it's the OT characters since that's what the ST will follow not the PT

Whaddya mean no PT? Vader, R2 and 3PO were all in the prequel trilogy. So was Yoda and Fett. Heck, even Luke and Leia were in Episode 3. The only character from that cover not in the PT is Han Solo!!

I see the cover date is November 23. Is that typically the on-shelf date as well? I have to pick this one up.

It's a OT picture. It was taking back during the OT.

If you're a subscriber, it comes a week early so they'll be floating around. I'm sure there will be scans online soon.

eta. On the EW site it says this issue will be on newsstands Nov. 16 - so tomorrow.

I'm not shelling any money on the creeps in EW. Besides, it's not like they're gonna tell you something new you wouldn't know otherwise.

Oh, and by the way Vader is very unlikely to show up in the ST (unless in a hologram or a dream), so that's just misleading!

    Of course.

But Lucasfilm will still find a way to throw him into the marketing for the new movie.

Putting SW on anything is basically like printing money.

Yeah, it means Kennedy will continue to be a uber producer and Lucasfilm will up their game production-wise.

They almost have to now they answer to shareholders.

True. But I've always like the stuff they've done with Dave Filoni.
