    As I always say:

    LET'S AGREE TO DISAGREE...

The Clone Wars is made for everybody. Some arcs make some happy and other not.
I don not like Umbara and you Seerow love Umbara.

    So to each his own...
    and

One man's genius arc is another man's most disliked arc. With this show anything is possible...

It didn't need to be particularly grimdark, unless portraying the protagonists as being on the wrong side of popular opinion is now considered "grimdark" by the culture at large. Perhaps it's just politically incorrect to show this on a cartoon, because we all know that the factions we support are adored by everyone and anyone who opposes our side is a puppy-eating tyrant/terrorist. (/snark) Really, this arc was the polar opposite to Heroes On Both Sides in how it presented the politics of the war. There was a hint at complexity when Rash and Kalani kept on referring to the Loyalist rebels as "terrorists", but this proved to be slightly hollow when the broader population turned out to back the rebels 100%.

I was surprised that Chris Collins was unable to portray a bit of realpolitik ruthlessness on the part of the Loyalist rebels or any good intentions behind the Separatists, given what The Wire was about. Everyone just seemed to slot nicely into their roles as oppressive thug and plucky righteous rebelscum. I sense an edit as well. TBH, I don't particularly blame Collins for this.

I remember Kevin Rubio (Troops, Bombad Jedi) talked about writing Bombad Jedi way back in S1.

He said the final product definitely ends up quite far from where it started.

Quango - I agree it didn't need to be grimdark, but your comment on the optics of the situation is spot on. And I would have had Kalani step up restrictions/pogroms on the public, not the "terrorists", so that public opinion is against the Rebels. But I guess there is a thread for how we could fix the Onderon arc so I'll shut up.

I am not sure who is blame for Onderon since Rebels and Rebellions are a key and THE story of Star Wars.

    Just stop.

You know what I mean. The main story in SW is not only the father-son issue but originally before Lucas changed his mind, it was about how a strong few stand up to a tyranical rule and rise up and fight back.
    Fight against an Empire!

Is LFL trying to alienate diehard fans, because what TCW is doing just doesn't work for someone who was perfectly happy with the Clone Wars multimedia project timeline?

Maybe its time the "Lets Fix Onderon" thread was resurrected. My biggest problem with Onderon is how it practically retconned HobS out of existance. Umbara didn't retconn "The Deserter" out of existance. It built on it. As Q said Onderon is portrayed completely opposite to what HobS put in my head. I have read all the fanon execises and put some together but it doesn't change the change it for me. I could have overlooked the rebels being so black and white if a little attention had been given to explaining where the Bonteri's, Rash, and Dendup all actually fit together. And I'm sorry, 3 and a half back episodes with a bit of good in the last won't redeem the arc for me.

And... Hey! Hey! Leave me and my long winded bros alone. Its not our fault the forum software can't handle us. =b
