Speculation Who do you want to direct Episode 7?

This may make me a bad guy round here, but I really don't want him. There is not one film he's directed in the past that I can safely say I genuinely enjoy. Not one. Not even the “great” Rocketeer. Let him direct one of the latter films, but he shouldn't be given any of the ST films.

No but it doesn't seem like Lucasfilm is interested in him. In his interview it sounded like he didn't know a damn thing about what was going on.

 

Vaughn is still doing his Secret Service movie, right?

 

I would like somebody without any misses on their resumes, all great movies. How about Juan Antonio Bayona, Raimi or Shane Black?

Doesn't really mean that he won't take the job if Lucas asked him to do it.

 

I'm with you on that one... I've been underwhelmed with most of his work.

 

Steven Steilberg said he will not? That is sad. Maybe Clint Eastwood can do it.

 

Clint Eastwood is not a sci-fi epic style director. He'd never do it.

My feeling is that Mathew Vaughn has not come out and denied that he is on the short list like so many others. There were over one thousand news stories that he was in fact in talk's with disney on google early last week. I have liked a lot of his movies and he did visit the set of ESB when he was just a boy ( good karma )

I would be happy if it was him

 

Sad about Bird. I have worries about Johnston and Vaughn. Hoping for someone we haven't guessed at this point, some Disney/Pixar person who's only handled a few great films like Arndt has.

Every time I hear Cuaron I think Harry Potter and it's not a particularly happy thought.

With Spielberg out, I'm hoping for Joe Johnston since he is essentially Lucas' protege and was involved with the OT.

The only guy left we've been speculating about is Joe Johnston and Matthew Vaughn.

 

Actually we have Colin Trevorrow too - this quote sounds like he's got his hat in the ring...

 

I'm worried they might give the job to M. Night Shyamalan. Kennedy has produced a bunch of his films.

 

I hope not. Colin's resume as a director is a short, a documentary, and a TV movie.:
