Discussion Who do you want to play Obi-Wan?

If Obi-Wan is gonna be in episode 7, who do you want to play him? Ewan or another actor?

I will definetly choose Ewan. Because the role just fits him soooooo well. Nobody could have played Obi-Wan better than Ewan did.

Isn't he a bit too old? Ewan's age is perfect!

 

How could anyone but Yoda be too old to play Obi?

 

If, and its a big IF, Obi-Wan is to appear at any point in the ST, there is no question who it should be--Ewan McGregor.

 

Wouldn't an Episode 7 Obi-Wan need to look at least as old as Alec Guinness? Ewan is much too young.

 

You don't know if episode 7 is going to follow after the OT or not. Or do you?

 

We've been told by Lucasfilm that EP VII is a continuation of the OT trilogy and the closing trilogy in a trilogy of trilogies, aka the Skywalker saga. I don't think Obi-Wan will appear, but I am not on the inside so I don't know that to be a fact, and if he does make an appearance I don't think there is a better option than EMcG.

 

I wouldn't mind Ewan but I'd be just as happy with Daniel Day Lewis or Gary Oldman.

Hmmmm. This sounds interesting.

 

I don't think we should see alot of force ghosts. But if we do Ewan has said he would do it and he'd be my choice.

I think the title "Episode VII" is self explanatory.

 

Ewan McGregor FTW. But Personally I don't want to see Obi-Wan appear.

 

Who knows? If they are crazy enough, they may change their mind. Then it would be about the PT, not OT. Who knows.

 

They can use Ewan McGregor and use makeup and/or digital technology to make him resemble Sir Alec Guinness.

There's another option, which is to use archive footage of Alec Guinness, create a composite, and "digitally resurrect" him. AFAIK there's at least one precedent for this: "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow," where they digitally resurrected Sir Lawrence Olivier.

It doesn't even have to be too good, after all, the Force ghost glow will hide a lot of imperfections—in either of the two options above.

But I do expect, or hope for, each of the three ghosts we see at the end of ROTJ to make an appearance!

Ewan. It's only fair, plus he stated on tweeter that he would like to be in if he was asked.

 

I'm with Ewan as well. It's makes for good continuity between the pt and st, and lots of makeup can be used to make him look older.

 

If Ewan will do the voice I think you still go with the old force ghost version of Obi. They could easily make a accurate computer model.

 

No one should play him for the simple fact that an Obi Wan force ghost had better not be episode VII. This is a whole new story and a new generation, everything that Obi Wan could weigh in on is over. What could ghost-face Kenobi possibly have to say to an elderly Jedi Master Luke that would advance the plot? It would just be a bunch of expository dialogue just to have an excuse to shoehorn Obi Wan in. Lucas already bored the audience to death with all the pointless, momentum killing expository scenes he wove throughout the PT. God what ****y scripts.

It's already been confirmed that we're going to see the OT cast and some even some fan favorite dead jedis last I heard.
