Full Series Asajj Ventress in the Clone Wars discussion thread

Nah, Lux's appeal to me is how normal he is compared to most of the folks I've seen in the GFFA. He's neither the smartest character around nor the dumbest. I like the way he's growing in the new arc. I just wish Rex would have stuck around so we could of had some "I'm your daddy's killer" drama. Would have been much better than what we got in those first two episodes. And this is off topic and has nothing to do with Ventress so we should continue this in the TCW general thread.

 

Just saw this, but this makes great points about Ventress.

 

I think Ventress will be killed from Vader. There is no way she would hide like a mouse in the dark times era. I think she would try to kill Vader and Sidious to take their Place and be the first galactic empress. Kill them or die trying.

For this she must grow immensely in the Force of course. But some Sith Holocron which she will steal from Dookus Places should help. She maybe now all of Dookus hideouts and when the Count is gone than noone will care for his secret Sith belongings beside Ventress and Sidious. I dont think the early Vader had a sense for such things.

 

It's funny how some people sympathize with Ventress, now.

Hard not to have sympathy for Ventress in the aftermath of "Massacre".

 

Yeah, no kidding. The way they've written her, and the way the animators and voice actor portray her make her one of the most interesting and likable characters on the show. I would guess the only folks who don't like her or the direction they're taking her are the continuity purists.

 

My bet is that Ventress will survive and be a major player in the ST (along with the Carbonite frozen Ahsoka)

 

Doubt it, Ahsoka ain't making it out of the series, and Asajj will probably die during TCW or will die between III and IV

Asajj Ventress is Nika Futterman's best voice acting role yet.

I agree that Nika does a fantastic job with this, I was a big fan of what she did at the end of Season 4. It helps to construct this very three dimensional layered character that we see. I think probably the stand out of the Clone Wars characters.

If you check out the scene on the train in "Bounty" where the kidnapped girl is telling Assaj that she doesn't understand her plight. The shot of Assaj saying "I wish i didn't." The combination of voice, animation, and lighting makes for an amazing character moment.

 

I'm not familiar with most of her other work. I'm looking at her IMDB and not much stands out, except for her role as VV in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, which is a bit of a cult hit. Her voice is almost identical to Ventress in that game, it's like a proto-Ventress.

For those who are familiar with more of her work, does she always sound like Ventress?

 

Hands down. Great work indeed.

Since she was once a lady from CIS, I always have been on her side per say.

That is what was amazing about Massacre - it made Grievous epic again and made Ventress an even more tragic character.

 

I've been a sympathetic fan of Ventress since before TCW existed.

A great example of his creepiness is in AOTC when Padme tells him to not look at her like that.

 

Ok... that is the creepiest kind - the "madly in love stalker with raspy voice". Ventress has nothing on that creepy.

At the end of Revenge, sexual tension in that little escape pod? Team Ven-Obi. I want them to kiss once by series-finale. Their relationship definitely creates sparks?
