A second person has come forward claiming an underage relationship with Clash.

So something tells me this one isn't going to go away with a recant.

 

Yeah, it's starting to look like Clash really does have a problem...

 

Even if the first accuser wasn't underage, Clash still admitted to having a relationship with a 17-year-old when he was in his 40's. Ew. I'm trying not to assume, but a second accuser makes me doubt that these claims are entirely baseless.

What are the odds of the Right NOT using this as a reason to cut funding for PBS?

 

No, I was just curious. You just know kids are gonna start asking questions if Elmo has a reduced capacity after this, and I don't envy the parents who have to have the talk with them about it if it does, like what happened back during the Pee-Wee Herman scandal.

 

It's not out of the realm of possiblity for them to try, but the problem is that using THIS particular issue was a reason to cut PBS funding could just as easily hurt them rather than help them. It might help them with their supporters, but with Clash quitting and (at first glance) PBS seemingly doing everything right that other organizations in their same position seemingly failed to do (investigate the first accusation and I presume will investigate the second one as well); you could have just as many people going "Why punish PBS for the actions of one individual?"

Also focusing on this particular matter in the midst of the fiscal cliff talks would further reinforce the GOP's image of pettiness.

 

parents might have to talk to their kids. oh no!
