Well one episode left. I have only a few comments to make on the bulk of series 3.

Lord Grantham should go stick his head in a ditch for a few episodes.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! NOT SYBIL!!!! Take Edith, hell, take Mary too, but NOT SYBIL!

    BATES AND ANNA VICTORIOUS...AGAIN!

Oh and I almost forgot...Carson gonna cars.

Allan Leech was such a lovely person!

Also, a tidbit from the behind the scenes event I went to...they won't be killing off Violet, but that doesn't mean Maggie Smith is back. If Smith won't be returning, they'll retire her to a seaside villa or something.

    ITV statement re: series four.

What puts me on edge about it? This: But first fans of the hit drama should prepare for both laughter and tears in a two-hour special to be screened on ITV1 at 9pm this Christmas Day. Laughter? Great! Tears. Err... do they mean tears of happiness or.... the other kind of tears? Because, you know, I have tears on standby should anything happen to Matthew or Mary. :p

    Also, first publicity shot:

Oh bloody heck. Ok, on the series 3 finale, I found myself wanting to shout at the television "END THE WHOLE PROGRAMME NOW! QUICK, BEFORE SOMETHING ELSE BAD HAPPENS!" :p

Yes, but wasn't it lovely that nothing bad did happen? :p

Thomas is the face of evil, but O'Brien is the heart of it.

Yeah. :p I just think the third series needed to end without another startling revelation or character set upon hard times. No disaster. I'm sure O'Brien's doom is coming, though.

Yeah, it was a nice ending! It was good, but I was disappointed about the fast turnaround they did with Thomas staying when it really looked like they were finally going to be rid of him.

It was quick, but in this case just. Thomas was tricked and on this occasion deserved to be let off. I thought it was interesting to finally feel some genuine sympathy for him. Almost despite myself. :p

The only time I felt sympathy for him was the scene where he discovers all his black market food is sawdust :( Haven't since then, though.

Related, I'm kind of impressed and suspicious about how accepting most of the house seems to be about homosexuality? Particularly Mrs. Hughes saying he didn't choose to be this way and Lord Grantham's joke about being kissed at Eton. I'm genuinely curious how common those views would have been in the period.
