Buff, NY North Ridge Holiday Party - December 15

What: North Ridge Holiday Party

Time: Arrival - 5pm Dinner - 5:15pm Election Results - 6:30 Gift Exchange to follow


Anna & AJ are hosting the annual Holiday Party. The food will again be pot luck.

Please post if you will be attending AND what you will be bringing to share. Paper products will be provided, so please dust off your favorite recipe and bring your appetite! Please check the thread before deciding what to make so that we can have a wide variety of food. We will need appetizers, sides, snacks, drinks, and desserts.

We will also be collecting non-perishables and personal items to be donated to a local pantry for families in need. Please bring along your donations to the party if you would like to participate. Requested items include, but are not limited to:

• toothpaste and tooth brushes
• bar soap (all types)
• shampoo
• feminine hygiene products
• deodorant
• shaving supplies
• toilet paper
• winter hats & gloves
• Any non-perishable food items

Please post your availability so others can plan their food and Anna will know how many people to expect for seating.

 

We will be coming. Two (semi) people.
We are bringing chocolate dipped cookies, assorted drinks.
We have paper plates, napkins, plasticware, cups from the club archive for the party.

 

Mary and I will be attending.
We will be bringing Beef Pot Roast and a Drink
I also have plenty of various size tables

 

I will be late, have another event until 5. I'll bring a dessert

 

I do appreciate those of you who have KINDLY offered to bring tables and chairs for the party. And we are looking forward to the POT LUCK!!

A few notes:

TABLES & CHAIRS
Please contact me so I may acquire said tables and chairs AHEAD OF TIME so I am not setting up in the middle of the party. With forward planning, I can pick up said tables and chairs. I prefer to have everything READY by the time everyone walks in the door to make it a more enjoyable experience for everyone- and so we have a place to put all the yummy dishes!!!

MEALS
Also, when bringing your dishes, please do not make a dish to serve 40 or 50 people. Please make a single or double of a recipe to serve approx 12-18 people. Last year the selection was truly amazing, a serving size was really almost like a tasting, and there was an incredible amount of waste afterwords because everyone graciously made dishes to serve 40 people. Desserts, of course, are the exception!

We will also be able to accomodate slow cookers/warmers. Please bring extension cords.

Please bring your dishes SERVE READY. This means ready to open and go. We will be HAPPY! to warm something up.

DISHES
Also bring SERVING UTENSILS please!! We have some but last year ran out because people brought dishes with nothing to serve them with, and I only have so many spatulas.

Be sure to LABEL your serving utensils and dishes. I am happy to wash them afterwards but labeling will help to return items to their rightful owner.

I have a card table and 4 chairs if you can use them, Anna. Let me know when it's convenient for us to get together for transport.

If anyone has a couple extra boxes, we can use them to transport the donations for the food pantry.

We will be bringing a Kahlua cake and Rice Crispy Treats.

 

I will bring a warm vegetarian side dish and some yummy wine

 

I'll be there. Probably will bring some homestyle mac and cheese and a dessert. Let me know if you need chairs, I have a couple folding chairs available.

 

Planning on it...haven't decided what to bring, but most likely will be a dessert of some kind, possibly brownies.

 

Will we be watching the Holiday Special this year?

 

We can if some one brings the DVD or a digital copy!

Also, looks like we need more MAIN COURSE dishes... If you are concerned about expense for a Main course dish, perhaps consider going in with someone else...

 

I'll switch from two desserts to one dessert with some mini meatballs with marinara sauce.
I agree, with Anna, we don't need any more desserts!

Add my Padawan to the attendee list. I will bring my copy of the Holiday Special if anyone wants! I might warn you, video quality IS questionable at best, but it is still just as horrifying! The copy I have has the episode of The Muppet Show with the cast of Star Wars making an appearance!

 

RSVP-ing for 2. Will bring enchilada casserole, and cheese and crackers, and a beverage.

I'll be running late to the meeting due to work so I'll most likely miss the dinner, but I'll should be there for the afterstuff.

 

We 3 will be there. We wil bring a green salad, considering I won't have a fully working kitchen still by that time.

There is a small chance I will be there. But for right now I'm thinking no as I will likely be out of town. Hope everyone has fun though!

Everyone seems to be bringing some kind of beverage so we won't be parched.

That makes 38 people by my count.

 

Chris, Xander and I will be there. We have tables and chairs if needed. Not sure yet what we will be bringing, but most likely a side dish or some sort.

 

I will bring an entree since we seem to be short on them. Probably Chicken and pasta dish.

 

The Myhalenko Clan will be there.

We can bring some soft drinks for starters

I will consult with our head chef to see what the Mrs. can whip up.
