I think we're past "Shadow Warrior" to an extent. Grievous did well in the last two episodes.

I haven't seen any episodes from S5, but I'm guessing Grievous comes off looking good at some point (no spoilers, please). He was "redeemed" a bit in Massacre as well, imo.

I wonder if all our complaining about Grievous was heard by the people at TCW and had an influence on their decision to let Grievous get some licks in.

As I mentioned in the old episodes thread, Grievous was portrayed as a badass early on. I'm trying to pinpoint when that changed and why. Did they change him because of Lucas? Were they trying to fall in line with Lucas' "vision", or something like that?

My memory of the second half of S1 is terrible, because I haven't seen the episodes since they aired. I don't think Grievous has a significant role in any episode past "Lair of Grievous", but that may be a memory failure.

I don't think he was featured much in S2. There's "Grievous Intrigue", but again my memory of it is fuzzy. What I do remember had a mixed portrayal, sometimes coming off as suitably villainous while other times incompetent. He didn't do too well against Koth, needing his Magnaguards to assist him. It definitely looked like he was going to lose if they didn't step in. But is it shameful to be outperformed by a Jedi Master and member of the High Council?

Then he showed up in that hologram with Koth, all like "I live to see you die!". That was cool, yet Koth got a message to the Jedi.

His duel against Kenobi was pretty much the embodiment of all his duels with Kenobi. He does okay for a while, only for the Force to be the great equalizer.

I think what hurts his reputation in "Grievous Intrigue" is that it shows him turning his back and running not once but several times in the episode. I think that's where I formed my opinion that he is like Cobra Commander, he shows up with the forces needed to hurt the heroes, does some classic villainous "Muah ha ha" smack talk, then fails and turns and runs.

He's hardly in S3 at all, only "ARC Troopers". It was just more of the same. Show up with a huge force, identical duel with Kenobi, fail, run away.

Maybe "Grievous Intrigue" and "ARC Troopers" really stuck with us, especially since he doesn't show up until "Shadow Warrior", which was just an embarrassment.

Well Grievous was a coward in ROTS, so i think TCW was trying to portray that

I disagree with the opinion that Grievous was a coward in ROTS, but perhaps TCW took Mace's word on it.

Edit: Ugh, I just realized this isn't the Grievous thread. Sorry.

Mods, if you want to just merge my wall of text to the proper thread, that's fine. Or not.

I wonder in Ventress will die in The Clone Wars....I have a weird feeling she'll sacrifice herself to kill Mother Talzin for some reason.

Ragdoll Obi-Wan? Defeated? Unheard of. :p

And Grievous lost my respect long ago. My name is just a tribute to his original self.

Just watched ROTS again, and that did strike me as odd. But at the beginning of ROTS he does seem to know Obi-Wan personally (that's what I get from that scene) I think its reasonable to assume that they have met whereas Grievous and Anakin never did.
