PT Force Speed

So basically Phantom Menace is the only movie where we see the Jedi use this ability. Did they forget about it or something? I could see it being useful against the blasters (i.e. Arena in AOTC).

 

I don't see how it would be useful in the arena. They had nowhere to run.

Yes, and only one part of the TPM. I think it may have bee useful at the end fight scene against Darth Maul! Obi-Wan gets separated from Qui-Gon and Darth Maul and while he does try to run and catch up, he gets separated by the plasma-energy gates (no idea what these are called). And as a result, Qui-Gon dies because he's against Maul alone. The force speed might have been useful to get catch up to them!

On youtube you can find a video where Obi-Wan Force speeds through the gates and goes right into the pit...

 

Didn't Obi-Wan use it when he was trying to catch up to Qui-Gon and Maul at the laser shield Security system?.

They would eventually get tired. The lightsaber is much more efficient in this regard.

It was cool, but the jedi's don't use the force like that unless they HAVE too..Lightsabers are more effective anyways.

 

Not using their gifts to their advantage, or to save their life is foolish IMO. Force speed is pretty handy in many situations.

 

I suppose from the cinematic perspective it's not very interesting because you need to see the characters' movements.

 

They can show a blur like they did when Obi Wan and Qui Gon ran from the destroyer droids.

I'm watching TCW now but I don't see anyone using this ability so far.

 

Probably because the directors lack imagination in the use of force abilities .

 

Except force jumping, they love to make Vos and Maul look like super leapers... just to make me cringe everytime I go back and watch ROTS.

 

That's because you think Anakin is trying to leap into the next time zone instead of landing right behind Obi-Wan.
