Speculation Will Anakin Solo be in Episode 7?

Will they turn Anakin Solo into the new Sith Lord?

 

My guess is no. I imagine that the people involved writers, producers, so forth all have pretty big egos and don't want to see something as copycatting. With them saying they are going to be original stories, it probably means that they are starting from scratch. My guess is nothing from the EU is involved unless it's the name of a planet or a cameo-type of thing like that.

 

I think the only way we would see Anakin is as a force ghost. And I think that will be a stretch, as they will be going with new "original" stories.

 

Most probably not.
It would create unnecessary confusion with the Anakin, that is Anakin Skywalker.
One of the reasons Lucas ordered Anakin Solo killed, if I recall correctly.

 

I want Anakin back. He was a good character, for the most part.

 

He might be back under a nickname but that's kind of pointless.

 

Yeah, even if he's back I expect him to be a background figure at best.

 

Having two Anakins was neat for a while, but having two Sith Anakins would just be weird.

 

I don't think they will use Anakin Solo, I'm just hoping they use Ben Skywalker and Jaina Solo--who aren't dead in the EU. It was Lucas who wanted Anakin Solo killed off because he feared people were stupid enough to confuse Anakin Solo with Anakin Skywalker. I don't agree with that line of thought because I liked the character and give people more credit than that, but I'm not the God of all things Star Wars (so my opinion on that counts for jack ****.)

 

I'm not sure they will use EU names...But they might have a variation of the character.

George Lucas was always adamant that the Sith were destroyed in ROTJ.

The Dark Side threat will be something new.

And I hope they have more original names for the children than Anakin and Ben.

 

It isn't an uncommon thought in the industry - and not without merit.

There was quite a storm about Chris Evans playing Captain America after having portrayed Human Torch.

Plus, there are people who still believe the Nolan trilogy is a continuation of the previous Batman movies and a good percentage of Americans believed that THE INCREDIBLE HULK was a sequel to Ang Lee's travesty (and hence why it performed poorly in the States.)

Lets remember that, "New and Original Stories" does not equal NO EU. They didn't announce anything yet, and they didn't say "All New Characters". They just said that the story for the this trilogy was new.

But I do love the speculation from everyone.

 

God, I only wish. Easily the best young Jedi character to come out of the EU.

 

For all we know, Anakin could actually be the name of Luke's son.

 

Even just the basic character traits of Anakin Solo would translate extremely well on screen. Even if they have no plans to use the name or his "life story" from the EU, it would be a good idea to base a movie character on Anakin Solo.

 

Well, he's basically his grandfather as he should have been. Was actually pissed when Denning said they'd considered bringing him back for FOTJ-at least there'd have been two things about that series I would have liked then

 

Far better character than his brother and sister too.

 

The trouble with his siblings is that nobody ever decided what they should be. Especially his sister-she's always been a fifth wheel type of character.

 

All the more reason he can be changed into Luke's son.

 

I think the names are George Lucas' choices and, if so, in the EU they obviously evolved in a different way to which Lucas would use them.

 

I think they decided what they should be in the NJO series and then immediately after ignored that and decided to go a completely stupid route with them instead.

 

Eh, for Jacen and Anakin yeah...Jaina, not really. It got worse after that.
