Totally agree, I mean if Lucas was all that fussed he would have told the story through books instead of kick ass movies!!!!

Ewoks and Gungans were not mystical super weapons and we can all be grateful for that! Interesting post though!!!

I bought Heir To The Empire when it came out, read it, wished I hadn't, tossed it in the bin and have attempted ever since to erase it from my mond!

So if you're ok with change and want to expand your knowledge why would any fan of the EU not be ok with the EU changing (re-starting) and getting more and new info directly from and/or more connected to the Lucas? (that would give yo a better picture of the characters)

I can respect and sympathize with that opinion. While I think some of your issues are a bit exaggerated such as resurrection of dead characters, I can understand why you don;t enjoy some of the material. For me the EU is a lot of eating the meat and spit out the bones. If you don;t personally enjoy the meat enough then it just becomes tedious spitting out all those bones. Thankfully for all of us it is a completely optional for of media.

If you don't like his answer, will he be obligated to shut up?

Yes but a fictional setting requires a suitable threat other than the laziest mammal in the Universe, it probably only messes with the force when it can be bothered, in-between defecating and sleeping!

Yes and No. Because if you want to hate on something the smart thing is to understand what you dislike about it. Only a fool hates want he doesn't understand.

Corran Horn, Kam Sulusar, Kyp Durron, are all uninteresting.

    And have really, preposterous names!

Neither were the Yalamsyr. They were a minor plot device used by Thrawn to reign in on Ca'both and to threaten Luke. Take note Luke manged to beat a bunch of Imperials on his own without it. So yeah they aren't superweapons nor were they ever.

I live by a different motto. Only a fool expects everyone to agree with him. It honestly is not our job to police reasons for why people like or dislike something. Enjoy what you enjoy, and just move on.

What if you haven't actually read something, but you are familiar enough with the ideas contained within to be turned off from wanting to waste your time, money, and energy on reading it? Does that make you a fool?

    From the Wiki definition:
I don't really see Corran in that definition; myself. He's been wrong on numerous occasions and needed to be rescued more than once.

Call me old fashioned, but when it comes to books, I prefer reading them on paper. Besides, that doesn't address the time and energy part of the equation.
