Glad you got there in the end. One thing you might want to check at home is if your internet provider has slapped a block on 'mature' sites on you. I had that happen to me out of the blue even though there are no children here - just me. I had to call the provider's tech support to get it lifted. See if any other sites are blocked - either with mature' content or sites like eBay. (And I don't mean porn sites - I was trying to look up information on crossbows for NaNo and I couldn't go to any of the sites from Google.)

Our internet provider sold to a new company about the same time I started having problems. So they may have banned some sites. Over in the NaNo Tech Help thread somebody said:

I bet my new internet provider did exactly what you said. When I go back I will see if it will let me on the Adult Fanfiction website. [face_laugh]

It might be worth giving their tech support a call or an email to see if they can fix your problem.

I finished Monday on 30175! It is now 11 minutes into Tuesday and I'm going to get a coffee and then continue writing! I need to write 5k a day so I thought I'd write as much as of that 5k now while I'm still going. Also, I've got some anaglyph 3D clip on lenses so I can play Black Ops 2 in 3D. It's much fun and provides good motivation!

I wrote more than expected yesterday, and got to 44777. I'm hoping to finish prior to Friday!

I've been sitting in Starbucks since earlier today and it's been going great! I've had to go and do things so I've not been here the whole time, but I've got a lot written and I'm chuffed with my progress! I'll edit in my word count when I finish for today, but I'm feeling like I can make it now! :D

Edit: Starbucks is closing so I have to stop at 38675 words total! That's 7444 words written today! I can still win this! [face_dancing]

Hit 50,084 words this morning (though it validated at 50,134-- I'm not complaining!). Happy! :)

I still have a lot to write with the story but this got the brunt of it done.

Congrats to everyone who has won so far! I'm now 5k exactly behind as I didn't write as much as wanted to yesterday, but I'm going strong now, which is all that matters. :)

    Word counts updated!
    Almost there! Keep going everyone!

    Congrats JediMara and Thumper! =D=

My word count isn't quite as bad as it looks on the list cause I haven't actually been counting. I figure I'm doing better than I have in the past few months so that's a win to me!

Well... it isn't done... but 45,384 words is pretty good for a NaNoWriMo project... I'm turning it into a monthly installment series after this.

    [Link removed]

    Anyway... how's everyone else doing?

Mav Edit: Sorry, we don't allow linking to stories in this thread.

I am a champion, I am a champion! No time for losers, cos I am the champion, of the world!

That right! I wrote nearly 9.5k words today and won with a grand total of 50,040 words!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go pass out.

Finishing out the month with 20K words. Obviously not my original goal, but I'm still proud of it because it's 20,000 words of a novel I didn't have a month ago.:) My goal is to have at least 50K by New Year and be done with the first draft of this story.

    Final Word counts updated.

Congrats to ginchy and moosemouse! =D=

And congratulations to everyone who participated, no matter if you wrote 100 words or 100,000!=D= ^:)^

    Even more discussion:
So how did it go for you? (I'm not talking word count.) Did you write something you like or is this being locked away never to be seen again? If you've participated before, how did this year compare to previous years? If this is your first, how did it feel? Was it as hard or easier than you expected?

It was exhausting. I have OCD so I will write and write and write if I have a goal in mind. I was done in 18 days and then I just quit and had a lot of trouble editing. I decided to start posting because that is the only thing that motivates me is the pressure to update. If I waited until the story was all edited and ready to post...it would never be posted. This was my first NaNoWriMo. I enjoyed it.

I found it a bit easier this year. I think the fact that I got a few days in at the beginning with high word counts helped. It gave me some breathing space when things got rough in the 30k range.

Finished with 23237 words, basically collapsed in the second half of the month. Congrats to all the winners, though.

This was probably the hardest NaNoWriMo for me. I just had no ideas at all and it all seemed to be boring. Still can't believe I wrote nearly 9.5k in 12 hours though, that was crazy.

I am now ill though, but it was perfect timing as I won and became ill. Had I been ill a day or so earlier then I wouldn't have won.

I ended up winning, but with moving into a new house right around Thanksgiving, I forgot to update here. Congrats to all who won and to all who wrote (even just a word)!
