No. I've read enough synopsises (synopses?) to know most of the series' story and understand all of the disturbing social aspects of it, but I have never touched a Twilight book.

As if reading it says something about your worth as a human being.

I'm going to, on principle, disagree with that as my gf has read them all.

 

Also, I've read them all. Yeah they were crap. But the world is populated with very many books that are far worse.

I've never read Twilight.

 

Maybe not what your worth is as a human being, but it's marketed at teen girls, by setting up Bella to be this great role model, and in my opinion, Bella Swan is the most wishy - washy waste of space in the history of the written word. (I almost said literature, but I refuse to classify Twilight as that).

 

Crap has been marketed at teen girls for years, and years. They eat that **** up. I know I was into a bunch of crap in my early teen years. This is nothing new. They're hormonal beasts, and they love it... most grow out of it, and some don't. Some may even read it years from now... kinda like how you still listen to Cher and Roxette. You have no room to talk about bad taste and garbage marketed to teens.

 

Would this conversation be well suited for the fecal force thread too?

 

Give it a try... it would probably be best to also include a description of your morning poop today, as well. Find a way to creatively tie the two together.

How do you know, if you haven't read the books? I mean, I'm not defending them, or anything... I attempted, and failed, to read one of them, but you seem to feel so strongly about a character you say you are completely unfamiliar with, having not read any of the books, and seeing one movie.

 

I can think of characters from the freaking literary canon who were more wishy-washy and wastes of space than Bella Swan (Based solely on my impressions from the first film). Julia from 1984 comes to mind.

Twilight is merely vaporware that will eventually vanish into the mists of time, and frankly isn't really worthy of the amount of hate it gets.

Everyone should read The Giving Tree, it's a perfect metaphor for parenthood - you give and give until you're a dead lifeless stump forgotten by future generations.
