Anything that paves the way more for a European Super League is bad in my books.

The CL wouldn't be very long if only the champions of the major European leagues got in, and teams like Man City & Chelsea would likely hate playing in the Europa League.

Well diddums. They'd just have to try harder to win their division, thereby making the domestic league more exciting and more competitive. Of course reducing the number of teams in the Champions League would most likely add to the prestige of the Europa League. If they were able to streamline it by cutting down on the number of games in it as well as increase the prize money as well, I see no reason why it couldn't become a decent competition again.

Playing later in the week is also a problem for many of the teams challenging for a league title, the other teams have enough problems with that already given their smaller squads.

The major hurdle with the expanded Champions League plan is that the fixture list is already packed, not sure where you'd find time for the extra matches.

I don't see them doubling the number of participants of the CL, it basically means less money for the bigger clubs.

Plus it wouldn't then be an elite competition if a bunch of mid-table teams were allowed in.

It's just another stupid UEFA or FIFA idea that won't get adopted.

I think the only thing that could make me happy this season is for Benitez to get fired before the end of the season. I think I would be physically ill if Chelsea won anything with him in charge.

Would you really prefer they win nothing at all?

I'll be pissed if we don't win this. Should be 2 up at least.

SAF needs to quit this keeper rotation. De Gea is our best keeper. PLAY HIM. I worry about Lindegaard's communication with his defence. He's been at sea today.

Both guys suffer from poor communication and command of their box, Lindegaard is picked because he tends to have fewer problems with balls delivered into his area.

Terrible defending again, City will crush us (again) if we keep playing this badly at the back. I thought the return of guys like Jones & Smalling would help fix the problem, it has not though I'm not really sure what the problem is. It needs to stop, hopefully Vidic's return will ensure it does.

Still, a win is a win.

    LOL @ Chelsea

    LOL @ Arsenal

Not for me, he's been my main midfield man since Chelsea went all fail (although Mata did score). Unfortunately I made RVP my captain and not him.

ManC about to crash out of CL with the lowest point total ever by a EPL side. Nice to see that sheik invested his money so wisely.

Dortmund did really well in the group, finishing first and all. As did Ajax finishing third, City on the other hand... you know the "lack of European experience" argument which people keep bringing up really doesn't hold any water now.
