It didn't hold water from the start given the players in the team with CL experience. Not to mention they have at least three players who had won the competition prior to signing with them.

Spurs had a fair excuse, and they still got to the Quarter Finals.

Pressure can do funny things. Spurs were never expected to progress. City, with their squad, were.

They seem at home in the Premiership, maybe Mancini hasn't developed a European Style yet. Can't go into the CL and play the same way you do in the EPL, they're very different in style.

Mancini has never succeeded in the CL. Can see another firing soon. Particularly if Jose is available.

Not sure if Mansour is as fire-happy as Ambramovich is, if City win the league again I can see Mancini being retained with more emphasis on doing better in Europe next season. If he then fails again there may be a problem.

Ideal situation would be Mourinho quitting Real, Benitez getting canned, and the Special One returning to Chelsea for a 10 year reign of glory.

    :(

Dortmund were brilliant throughout the group matches, incredibly wasteful, though, could actually have finished the GoD with 18 pts otherwise. Something they definitely have to work on in the KO stages.

BuLi has two group winners, plus Bayern playing at home tonight. Very good year so far, better UEFA points total than the EPL.

Wenger has signed Johannes Vennegoor of Hesselink in an effort to show that Arsenal can still sign big name players.

I can't see Mourinho going back to Chelsea while Abramovich is still there. Not sure where he would go if he left Madrid, maybe United but Fergie would have to leave first and he seems keener on Guardiola.

Not often will this be said when sub top team is facing Barça but... Benfica should have been ahead and they have been the better side Rodrigo screwed things up. Luckily as it stands they will still go through.

Chelsea remembered how to score it seems.

    United currently have not.

Had Chelsea played that way more often they might have progressed, unfortunate that their fate was not in their hands. Playing in the Europa Leauge will be tough for their Premiership title challenge.

United at least conceded a quality long-range goal, but were pretty poor in a creative sense. Resorted to long-balls by the end, shouldn't be happening. The team will not win the CL playing this way.

    Great work by Celtic.

PS Says alot about this forum that the world's greatest player weas taken off the field on a cart last night and not a single one of you mentions it.

PPS Barca tweeted that it's only a bruise, in case anyone's interested.

Does anyone know why Messi was taken off on a cart last night and not a stretcher?

PS Says even more about this forum that my great joke about Wenger's signing only got one 'like'. smh

Considering that Euro 2020 consists of 24 teams (half of Europe basically) I don't think qualification will be an issue. :p
