    I suppose I haven't been there in a while.

Anyway - looks like Gascon and the Gungan worker units from Galactic Battlegrounds both have their origins in the same concept art.

That episode was fun to watch, a good break from all the serious storylines that have been slowly taking over the show.

Hear hear. I loves me my light-hearted Artoo adventures. This episode was definitely preferable to reading Fate of the Jedi. I mean, that's not exactly a difficult feat, but still.

Ackmena in The Clone Wars would be just about the greatest thing in the history of the show. Especially if they got Betty White to voice her best friend.

I'm totally not being facetious, either. I love The Holiday Special, I love Ackmena, and I love Bea.

You know who else TCW should use? Pellaeon. He should be captaining a Star Destroyer in the next arc. TCW needs some more glorious moustaches; that circus leader guy's should be the start of a trend rather than a lone instance.

I didn't know blackmyron had a known history of posting memes, or belittling postivie opinions - oh wait, he doesn't. Yeah, I see only one bully here.

But then I guess I should be thankful there hasn't been the enjoyable whimsy of ewok pornography yet. I'm sure it will be along soon enough.

I have to say, though, that the appearance of a RepCom coming up - complete with actions straight out of a video game - may cause LucasArts to wake up and maybe actually make another Republic Commando game.

LucasArts waking up? LA killed Battlefront 3 over money when it was apparently 99% finished according to Free Radical co-founder Steve Ellis.

I'm hoping the Disney buyout may change this - considering how lucrative the video game market is right now, I have a feeling that the success of 1313 is going to be watched closely. Even if it does well, they may be involved in shuffling around the company anyways. I don't expect a return to the Sam & Max/Maniac Mansion days, but I'm hopeful that at least something will happen with LucasArts.

I hope so, I really hope so, but I am not particularly hopeful given LucasArts' track record of refusing to continue successful franchises. Star Wars fans everywhere have wanted another X-wing and TIE Fighter series game, Battlefront III, a Republic Commando sequel, KotOR 3, and a conclusion to the storyline of Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. Unless Disney lights a fire underneath LA, I don't think they are going to return to their glory days.

That stands a good chance of surviving untarnished -- TCW has named dropped dozens of EU location names so far. The main thing we have to worry about is if they, y'know, blow the star up or something.:p

I can totally see that happen :p

also Insider says the space station design for the Caridan system was taken from/inspired by unused Star Tours concept art!

Carida? Awesome. Though there will be some possible changes... planet might end having rings around it or it might be said that the native species are all humans... or that the planet has never had a military academy of any kind...

Sorry, that sounded a bit more bitter then I was planning :p Its good though to hear the namedrop of Carida and hopefully it does retain a mention of perhaps have a Republic academy or something.

Why do you torture me?! :p Now my fears are that someone blows up the star and we have to find some form of retcon to explain it in the EU... I'm going for that they built a new star and planets with everything back to normal... with the engineer finishing the job by the time Kyp brings the Suncrusher and the architect goes 'Sithspit... well, I ain't doing that again' :D

Obviously the Suncrusher was developed off a device originally named the Sunbuilder that had restored the sun prior to its later redestruction. :p

If there was actually some random line of dialogue along the lines of "man, I dunno why we never put a military academy here", I would die laughing.

Hmm, I like the idea of seeing a Republic fleet strategy meeting. They keep hinting at more and more non-clone officers, so I for one hope to see some OT Imperials and Rebels as their younger Republic selves!

I wonder if this Carida meeting is from the series finale featuring Tarkin?

Ok, so I've finally watched the penultimate episode. Here are my observations -- and I apologize if I'm repeating anything, but I've only caught up with this thread up 'til last Saturday (how on earth are there four pages since then?!).

Anyway, I thought that episode was great. In general the Younglings arc has surprised me by being of a high quality. I'm unsure if I liked this one better than the circus act one, but I definitely liked it (the first episode in the arc is still my favorite though).

    Observations:

    - Pete has a conscience for once and stays behind to drive the speeder. Nice.
    - Maybe these younglings are actually likable, because I found the beginning rather tense even though I knew there's no way they'd let these kids die.
    - My annoyance at yet another menacing Dooku hologram (seriously, does he do anything other than yell at people and promise to destroy them?) is blunted by Hondo's amusing response to what would ordinarily be a very frightening communication.
    - The Artoo / battledroid exchange was great. I agree with the people who suggested he's probably swearing.
    - Hondo's legit in wonderment at seeing a saber being constructed. I like that a lot -- it really is something that most living beings would never see. It's good to see that he puts value in all rare things, not just rare things that earn him a profit. Also, he may be an avaricious pirate, but he understands the value of a morale boost (and wouldn't be a good pirate leader if he didn't). He basically played a trick on the Younglings to make them more confident in themselves. I also totally buy the fact that he can be a huge hypocrite about the kids -- and should be. He's not a good guy.
    - Pete and Katooni are using one-handed saber styles. I like seeing that, although it's odd since they should only be drilled in Shii-Cho at this point.
    - Seems the non-human Jedi aren't really very active in this ep. They're mostly background, which is kind of disappointing.
    - That said, Katooni is probably my favorite of the lot. Can we have her replace Ahsoka place? She's probably a better role model -- failed at first and had to work for what she did, and has a good moral center. Ahsoka's self-centered rebelliousness and attitude disgust me.
    - Agree that the thousand generations comment probably has to do with generations of younglings and not a timespan. Or the droid could just be exaggerating.

It was a good episode. I usually don't have this much to say about most of them.

Now, I've been hearing the one after it is controversial so... I look forward to that.

I am currently reading the Jedi Academy Trilogy, seeing Carida could be awesome, I just hope they don't TCW it. Actually it's kind of wierd to think about it because I have been reading all the EU novels that came before NJO to fill in everything and when I read Courtship that's when TCW introduced the Nightsisters... and I remember how that turned out [face_sigh]even though I do like TCW version, I much prefer the novel version. I guess I'll just have to wait and see

I hope that's some sort of esoteric reference because I'm not sure I understand at all. But I suppose we'll see.

In all fairness, the TCW version of Nightsisters may have been different from Courtship, they were similar to how the Nightsister were portrayed in a lot of other sources: Galaxies, Empire at War, the Darth Maul comics, and especially Infinity Gate - the creators of the show outright said that they based their version heavily on the Infinity Gate version. You even see a Nightsister with Zabrak features in that comic.
