Checking in while waiting for pumkin/sweet potato casserole to cook. First time I'm making it, and hoping it's like pie, disguised as a real dinner food.

It was ok. Not as much a pie in disguise as I'd been hoping. More like a light casserole.

Hello all. Long time fan, new to the board.

Well I live around the Littleton area and I've been a Star Wars fan all my life. I just recently found the ForceCast podcast and I LOOOVE it... I'm pretty much on my own in my group of friends with my love of Star Wars. I'm 33 years old, so I was around for the original trilogy, but I can't remember seeing any of them in the theater. I do remember wearing out VHS tapes and getting ridiculously excited as a kid when Star Wars was coming on television at night (I grew up with rabbit ears only).

I have a small collection of figures, books, audio tapes etc. - I'll try to link those here. I work nights, but I'm excited to talk Star Wars with others that are nearby!

 

Welcome, nagayoshi! I'm a fan of the Forcecast as well and it was great meeting those guys at Celebration 6.
To talk figures, you need to meet nerfherders and see his basement. Holy cow, he's got some great displays and dioramas!

Star Wars Golden book?!? I should have known...

 

I was able to attend the first celebration (is that what number it was?) here in the Denver area... blew my mind.

I got to meet Warwick Davis and Ray Park, and went to a silly concert held somewhere other than the festival grounds. It was miserable and cold, but I loved it. I actually flew in for it from Minnesota because an old high school friend had started college here... ahh... memories...

 

Nagayoshi, if you don't mind, could you pop over into the Check In and Intro thread at the top and introduce yourself? Not everybody comes into the Front Deck thread. That sounds awesome. I work the night shift, and weekends a lot, but I'm very interested in meeting everyone.

My weekend work schedule isn't posted until a day or two before the weekend (great, right?) but if I'm off, I'd love to come meet everyone. I'll PM you maybe? if I have it off - for information.

Ha! Maybe we should have a "front deck" instead of "front desk" thread. I've known some secretaries/admin assistants, which is what I think of when I think "front desk" who weren't too terribly friendly. Now, "front deck" that's a friendly Southerner hanging out on the front porch, sipping some lemonade, baking a pie and saying "Howdy, neighbor!", no?

So, howdy, neighbors! Why don't you come on over and sit a spell?
