I'm only interested in After Earth because it's the same DP as ESB.

Why not just set up a regular debit to Lucas and be done with it?

The After Earth trailer was a bit heavy-handed, but those Smiths are so damn talented. I really like the look of Oblivion though. It's amazing to me that we still seem to be seeing year-over-year improvements in visual effects. I hate to get technical, but this **** all looks ******* real to me.

Sorry for bumping this thread a bit but I wanted to weigh in weigh in with my choices(after narrowing it down from 30):

    John Dies At the End
A Good Day to Die Hard
    OZ: The Great and Powerful
    Evil Dead
    Star Trek: Into Darkness
    After Earth
    Man of Steel
    Kick-Ass 2
    Iron Man 3
    Pacific Rim
    The Wolverine
    Ender's Game
    The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug
    Thor: The Dark World

I had tried narrowing it down to only 10 but just couldn't.

Finally, a little Ender's Game news.

Things I did not know: Ender's Game is being produced by the same company that did Drive. I also didn't know the backstory about Warner Bros. dropping the project. I did know that Wolfgang Petersen had been attached as director at one point.

Mostly looking forward to Iron Man 3, Man of Steel, Jurassic Park 3D, AOTC 3D, ROTS 3D, and The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. Probably looking forward to The Hobbit the most right now.

I guess I and some others will need to remove AOTC 3D and ROTS 3D from our lists... for now at least and maybe forever.

"Lucasfilm has decided to postpone this fall's scheduled release of Star Wars Episodes II and III in 3D. Given the recent development that we are moving forward with a new Star Wars trilogy, we will now focus 100 percent of our efforts on Star Wars: Episode VII in order to ensure the best possible experience for our fans. We will post further information about our 3D release plans at a later date."

Postponing is one thing but this makes no mention of rescheduling for a future date... which is what "postponement" really means. They could be announcing new dates at some point soon, but this unfortunately sounds more like the other five films may never be released in 3D and they just don't want to say so yet. I guess we'll know when they "post further information about (their) 3D release plans at a later date". That would be a shame given that AOTC and ROTS must have been largely finished conversion-wise, and of course it's bad news for anyone that wanted to see them or the OT in 3D theatrically.

The announcement is cover for the fact that those movies have very little box office potential. They know it. Most of us know it. TPM did just ok in its 3D release. The other prequel movies would be a disaster. The last thing Disney wants to do ahead of a new Star Wars movie is publicly demonstrate the decline in the cultural relevance and appeal of the franchise as a whole.

    Titanic 3D - 20th most successful movie of 2012
TPM - 63d most successful movie of 2012

in its original run, Titanic out-box-officed TPM 2 to 1. In its release, it out-box-officed TPM by more than 3 to 1. That speaks directly to the relative decline in the appeal of the Star Wars prequels over time. An AOTC 3D that makes $30 million worldwide serves no one.
