Full Series TCW Pessimism Thread

Here's a place where everybody can discuss TCW critically without being labelled anything unsavoury.

I'll start us off:
I think the Maul Shadow Conspiracy will be one hot mess
The show's best is behind us

I agree. The good ol' times are in the past..
..and now we have MandoMaul.

 

Shouldn't this be called the Pessimistic Depreciation thread?
I HATE how unbelievably stupid the battle droids are. (my two cents).

The first seasons of the show (up until they got to Ventress and the NightSisters) was unbelievably dull. Even Cad Bane couldn't save those parts, and I like Cad Bane. And shame it's going to be ending at season six, but there isn't much interesting stuff left they could add to pad out a season seven.

 

The first seasons were genius! But much later thanks to arcs like Umbara and Hardeen, my pessimsm about the show grew 3 times.

Nobody has said it will end at season six.

 

Why the hell would they introduce the Super Tactical Droid, just to make them no more effectual than a regular tactical droid, let alone any of others?

 

I loved the Umbara arc, but cannot stand the entire Randy/Maul direction.

There's way too much inconsistency in how those two are portrayed. One minute Randy plows through Jedi like a bag of potato chips, the next he's getting owned by Doku and Ventrus quite effortlessly.

Randy and Maul where nothing more than Galactic Sith muscle, but now Maul (after 10 years of insanity) has a master plan? The only thing that can save that mess is Venturs (or Ahsoka) killing one or both of them.

 

Ahsoka killing Darth Maul? No, no, NO.

 

That would be painful to watch.

Is this a discussion thread (pro and con a/k/a "discuss critically") or a thread to list what's wrong with TCW?

 

I am so serious. Its no more implausible than bringing back Maul in the first place.

 

Why do I suddenly find this thread more appealing?

 

Yeah... no.

Some people are a bit too obsessed with Ahsoka. She hasn't got the powers or the skill of a Jedi Master. She's only been a Padawan for a couple of years. She couldn't defeat Ventress or Grievous but you think she's capable enough to kill a Sith Lord who's killed several Jedi Masters, including Qui-Gon Jinn?

 

I'm not obsessed with Ahsoka by any means. I also don't have such an anti Ahsoka stance that suggest that she cannot (or shouldn't be allowed) to do anything more than float a few objects and slice through some Droids.

IMHO its no different than GG being a Jedi hunter who's killed by a blaster while Obi Won is a half step away from plunging to his death. Sorry....but if there are IU explanations on how a being with "magical force powers" can plow through Jedi, there's nothing stopping Ahsoka from defeating them as a part of her development into a Jedi Knight.

I've never accepted this idea that only Jedi Masters can do anything noteworthy or that the length of time/age of a Jedi should be a primary role in going from Padwan to Jedi.

 

I'm not saying that only Jedi Masters are capable of doing such things, but the point is Ahsoka is only 14-16 years old, not even an adult. She hasn't even got a quarter of experience or training as much as Maul has.

 

We've already seen the worse. It can't go any lower can it?

 

Stop being so optimistic, you're trolling the thread.

 

She has had more wartime experience than Maul, and most Jedi that came before her.

Maul also spent the entirety of his life as an Assassin and single handedly wiped out Black Sun and has killed at least two Jedi Masters

 

If you learned anything from Star Wars, its that young people can do great and powerful things.

And I'm sure that's a message GL would want you to take away from it.

Teenagers are capable of many things that older folks are not. And experience level in the war is a huge factor.
