Remember back in the 90s when Will Smith did the theme for Men in Black especially with the music video?

I wonder if they'll do something like that for episode VI.

Or Ray Parker Jr. with "Ghostbusters" in 1984? Or Huey Lewis and the News with "The Power of Love" for Back to the Future in 1985? Or Billy Ocean with "When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going" for Jewel of the Nile in 1986?

The closest Star Wars has come to that is Meco's #1 disco single "Star Wars Theme/Cantina Band" in 1977. But if they cast, say, Ke$ha as Jaina Solo, the possibilities for a hit single over the end credits of Episode VII (something like "Jedi Gunna Get Real (feat. Flo Rida)" maybe) would be too good to pass up!

Pit Bull also did a MIB 3 video Im sure he is on board with SW. He will pose as a bad guy and his song will be "Taken Out Jedi Knights"

Since Justin Bieber will be playing Ben Skywalker and Corey Feldman (who has some musical abilities, just watch Dream a Little Dream) is playing Jacen Solo, I'm sure they can double on a vid

Perhaps Raven Symone will give us a stirring rendition of "Good Night, But Not Goodbye" from the Holiday Special.

This is probably one of the top ten most horrible things Disney could do with the Star Wars franchise.
The only worse thing i can think of is replacing lightsaber duels with rap battles and dance offs.

Don't get me wrong, it worked with ghostbusters and MiB, but they were comedies. Doing it with Star Wars would be all kinds of terrible, so I'm assuming that every reply that could be interpreted as serious, is actually a joke.

Do you know why this shouldn't happen? Because nearly every other film does it. They all have a song and/or video, and it's done either because it's somehow become a convention of the film medium (which it shouldn't be), or just to try to create a "hit song" that can be used to wring additional money from the film. No Star Wars film needs Celine Dion's screeching pseudo-Streisand voice going on about her heart going on while the credits are rolling. No one can convince me that it would make the films better if they had it.

I'll keep saying this until it sinks in: you can't improve Star Wars by making it not Star Wars. Period.

I'd say they should do something Will Smith - MiB-like.

And wish they add a little big of rock and still keep the dramatic music.

I mean if there was a dance number in a music video like Will did with the bounce, slide, walk-with-me & freeze, the Jedi and rebels that wear like Han Solo's would dance and have some alien dance with them.
What would they do, there weren't any sunglasses in the SW franchise.

Anyone who doesn't like Weird Al's Star Wars parodies inhabits a dark, depressing mindscape where monsters lurk while small children sob quietly.

I think some death metal maybe appropriate for a light saber duel

I think some polka music may be appropriate for a light saber duel.
The jedi could wear blue lederhosen, and the sith red lederhosen, and they could throw in some thigh slapping moves in between saber strikes.
