I'm pretty sure Jacen killed the Noghri bodyguards in TEMPEST when he was attacking the Millennium Falcon, when he thought his parents were trying to kill Tenel Ka and Allana.

Leia just never asked for new Nogrhi bodyguards.

 

Weren't the Noghri sticklers on that though? Didn't they always essentially send replacements whether she wanted them or not?

Let's see. They were killed in a Denning book but they didn't come in the Allston book. We do know that Lowie and Lumpy were to join the Noghri in guarding the Solo's at the end of TUF but by DNT by Denning they weren't there. Wasn't Denning the Mastermind of LOTF? Blame him

 

Didn't Lowie and Lumpy pick up Chewie's life debt to Han at the end of TUF? I guess that's not as big a deal as we thought, either.

Yet another reason why the post-NJO books didn't feel properly connected to their predecessors. Denning needs a long break from SW, and with him he can take his pet characters etc.

 

I'd prefer a permanent break. When I compare the damage he's done to the quality of his writing, I don't think the risk is worth the reward of having him continue working on Star Wars.

I actually like his pet characters and find his weirdness amusing, but he's not writing masterpieces.

A Wookiee life-debt is from a person to a person, not a bloodline to a person.

 

Considering the amount of trouble Han and Leia get into and how close they've been to Chewie for years if not decades they would want to continue it regardless if it was only supposed to be Chewie or whether Han and Leia didn't want it.

 

Would Allana count? She's been explored but I wanna see much more of her. So glad to hear she's playing a big role In SOTJ!
