How does he manage to handle every single one of these things with the same enormous degree of ineptitude? Is he incapable of learning from experience?

he's stupid and has no balls. when he talks, it gives one the impression that there exists severe brain damage. even if he were capable of effectively articulating the reasons for not raising taxes, no one would be able to make sense of the words emanating from his face-hole. he is probably crying right now, as i type this.

I just imagined the Oompa Loompas taking Boehner out right now...

Also, South Carolina's ex-governor Mark Sanford (went missing for a week or so, not even his staff knew where, first he said he was hiking the Appalachian trail, then he admitted he was with his mistress in Argentina) is...running for Congress.

And he may be primaried by his ex-wife, Jenny.

That would be such perfect, poetic justice.

So Boehner has sent Republicans home, rather than try to form a coalition of Democrats and Republicans.

I think the Mayans may have just foreseen this epic fail... the end of the GOP as a serious and functional party.

    EDIT: the National Review's take

if everyone was just a little nicer to him...

put yourself in his shoes - a politician famous almost exclusively for being publicly ridiculed, yet who also happens to be the head of his party. this is like if arlon became an admin

Same here. Then I remember that he's trying to run this country into the ground for the benefit of a select few and I say "**** him."

What I don't get is, why not just allow the Senate bill (that lets the tax rates for those earning over $250,000 a year expire while keeping the lower rates on everyone else) come to a vote in the House???

Republicans say it HAS the votes to pass. So why not pass it?

Why can't Boehner allow a Democratic-Republican coalition to form?

He doesn' even have to vote for it, just allow the vote to take place.

Being Speaker is more than a partisan position like "majority/minority leader," it's a nonpartisan and consitutional position. Be a Speaker of the whole House, for once.

I think John Boehner could use some life advice from Hank Hill.

he should have just had a bill drawn up that cuts the bottom three rates, leaves the top two rates the same, passed it, sent it off to the senate with a sticky note on it that says "dear harry reeds, i am looking out for the "middle class" (since we have classes now). maybe later we can "close some loopholes". the court is in your balls. love, johns bayner", and sent the house home for the holidays! boolseye!

What about a guy named Anthony Weiner. To have a name like that and be successful is a sure sign of strength of character. If they didn't they would not have been elected.
