We've already noted that this argument is idiotic and I believe I asked people who made it to sterilise themselves to keep the gene pool unpolluted.

Lee, either the Christmas period saw a bountiful yield of moonshine or you're just parroting dumb ideas from other people but when the dominant purpose of cars are to kill, then you can compare the two. Otherwise, it just boils down to gun lovers wanting their guns to cover up their inadequacies and insecurities as a man.

You can feel like a man without stroking on a gun Lee. It's possible.

What, like that you can compare a gun to a car?

(I figure if unrestrained, assumptive, silly hyperbole is the standard for this debate Rogue then to hell with it. I'm taking my shoes off and splashing about!)

I don't think he's the one that brought up the gun/car comparison intially, but he and I however actually agree that if one has to have a license to operate a car, than it's not an unreasonable thought to require gun owners to have a license with requiste tests and training for them as well.

I don't think anyone really disputes having a licence to own a firearm along with getting the relevent training.

Most people dispute the equality that some posters are attributing to deaths caused by morons in cars and deaths caused by morons with guns.

    That.

Plus, how on earth does a first world nation not licence gun ownership?

I don't stroke a gun. I keep mine in a case next to my bed. It's cocked and loaded and isn't coming out unless I actually need it.
Now if you will kindly reverse your rectal-cranial inversion, we can all play nice.

I'll take mine with the Die Another Day missile launchers, and the Tomorrow Never Dies remote control, unbreakable windows, and anti-pursuit road spikes.

This goes against the most basic gun safety. You're supposed to store ammo separately. You do not sound like a responsible gun owner in the slightest.

    I think you mean "nicely".

Good to see you are being safe with it. But if someone breaks into your house, you have a right to take their life, right? Might as well be prepared to end them if they make that mistake?

No, because in owning the gun he's already really tough. All gun owners are. And it's not fair to punish them for the not tough people who want bans, or illiberal communist things like gun safety.

    1. No children to get their little curious hands on it.
    2. I shoot a 1911. It's got two safeties on it; the thumb lock at the rear of the slide (which is always in use) and the grip safety which allows it to only fire if I am holding the weapon.
    3. I also have it in a Serpa Blackhawk holster, which prevents the trigger from being depressed, but also locks down on the gun. Can't be taken from the holster

I'm good with safety, no matter what you may believe.
I honestly dislike killing anything, but yes, I have the right to use deadly force in the extreme circumstance where my life or any member of my family's lives are in a clear and present danger. If they turn and run, that's the end of it.

So, what, you'd ask a robber "friend or foe"? "Is your intent lethal or just mildly annoying?" Are you having a laugh?
