The Christmas uni's the Lakers will be wearing today... while they (in my humble opinion) certainly look better than the Lakers usual horrid looking Sunday/holiday alternate's, this is still an uninspiring look. Why even go all white just because it's Christmas, especially since it doesn't ******** snow out here in La La Land. :p The Knicks ought to be wearing uni's of this color.

nice win for the lakers. as much as i love watching them struggle, the league is a lot more interesting if they're good.

'Twas a very niiiiiice Christmas this year (1st win on Christmas in 4 years! :D ) for the Lakers: Nash dishing out 11 assists, Pau with that dunk late in the 4th that nailed it, and balanced scoring (all the starters, save for Morris, notched double figures points, lead by Kobe's 34 (of which I believe it's his 9th game in a row scoring 30+), which now puts him atop (passing Oscar Robertson) the all time points scored list on Christmas. Aside from Nash, the key difference maker for the purple & gold was MWP: 20 points (16 in the 2nd quarter), and played great defense throughout... his offense is always touch & go, but his effort defensively is outstanding (the rest of the team ought to take notice)... the foul call that got him knocked out was complete **). Niiiiiiice to see the purple & gold (for the moment) back at .500.

Carmelo was impressive as well (17 points scored in the 3rd, 34 overall) , as was J.R. "my name is Earl" Smith (25) (his missed shot with under 45 seconds to go helped greatly). Wasn't a fan of their all orange (or the Lakers all white) jersey's. A great way to start off the family gathering here at my cousin's place on this Christmas Day.
    :)

I seriously couldn't believe he did that. That had to be the highest Gasol has ever been off the ground in his life. Adjusting for plane flights rollercoasters and marijuana.

Yeah, Kobe did his thing about (40 points, 30+ scored now in 10 straight games), Nash was effective (15 points, 8 assists), and Pau showed more signs of life (19 points), but it all doesn't matter in this defense not needed game that saw Cory Brewer (27 points) impress off the bench for Denver, and all of their starting 5 scoring at least 10 (4 scoring 17 or more). Though the Lakers were already down & having a terrible defense game, the turning point tonight happened with this play:

    WTF, Dwight?!

I just think that firing somebody around the Christmas/New Year holidays is ***** timing and doesn't help the PR of the Nets one bit.

Oh and apparently the Nets are pursuing Phil Jackson.

I think this solves the "Why now?" question of Avery Johnson's firing.

Nah. They don't want Phil and Phil doesn't want them. Poor fit personnel wise for his Triangle offense. Phil doesn't come back unless it's the Lakers or a team that has a serious chance at a ring by June 2014. I don't think Brooklyn qualifies as either of those.

I don't care which team does it, but I'm really hoping the Clippers fall hard & get embarrassed* in the playoffs (preferably before reaching The Finals).

*Am I bitter about the opposite directions the Laker & Clipper seasons are taking? Maybe.
