I'd like to add the novel Death Star. It's really well written and contains lots of juicy plots points, political intricacies, and in house espionage. Short chapters spin an awesome tale surrounding the baddest Space station in a galaxy far far away.

Thank you. I had to go into a list because just listing one doesn't cut it for me. Have to break it all down. Each era also includes the favorite book, duology and trilogy in it even though I didn't list them all again except for TUF. Didn't want to type them all over again.

Sacrifice -- how come no one's mentioned this? I thought it was absolutely amazing.

I'm halfway through book 1 of the Bane trilogy and it's decent so far.

I enjoyed TOR: Deceived, and my previous favourite was Darth Bane: Path of Destruction, but that has been usurped by Shadow Games, despite it's many flaws.

Add Darth Bane trilogy and Darth Plagueis and it's real deal.

The Force Unleashed II was pretty decent too, much better than the game.

I finished Book 1 of the Bane Trilogy, half way through with Book 2:)
It is overall entertaining so far, and I am learning a lot about this era but I can't say that it's my favorite... yet;)

I don't think that the writing is as good as in Thrawn Trilogy or even in Darth Plagueis, but it's pretty decent. The story though is really great, and that is what Karpyshyn does best, creating great stories.

I don't want to seem like an obsessive but...

1 - The Thrawn Trilogy (still blows me away)
2 - Shatterpoint (Heart of Darkness and Apocalypse Now are both amazing and this stays true to them while giving us something that feels very much like canon)
3 - Republic Commando novels (they don't deal with main characters, but they are very well written)
4 - X-wing novels (Stackpole and Allston are both great for different reasons)
5 - Outbound Flight (classic Zahn)
6 - Tales of the Bounty Hunters (not all perfect, but I really wanted to learn about these guys)
7 - Han Solo trilogies (both are good for very different reasons)
8 - Splinter of the Mind's Eye (I like that it stays true to the heart of Lucas's tale even if it's not the best story out there)

I don't necessarily despise any of it, though some is poorly written. I take it with a grain of salt when it's not good and downgrade it on my own canon system.
