Empire Strikes Back!

 

Star Wars(aka A New Hope)

 

Empire.

The best director was on it. The best writers. Acting was great. The dialogue. The TENSION. It had it all. Not only the best SW film, but one of the best Sci-fi films of all time (Blade Runner, Planet of the Apes, Empire....does it get better than that?)

 

Empire! Just everything about it, the acting, the script, the drama, the quotes "I am your father"..........

Can't beat it IMO

 

Revenge of the Sith. Part of me is tempted to vote for AOTC because I love it so dearly, but ROTS surpasses it by a hair.

It's the most brutal and emotional of all the films and I enjoy it the most for those reasons.

For instance, there's no scene as romantic/tender across all the Saga as when Padmé goes to see Anakin following his nightmare.

And with the adventurous opening, Anakin's manipulation by Palpatine, and the downfall of the characters -- it builds to an emotional peak that's unsurpassed.

Using both subtle and forceful imagery, it's the best of the Saga in my opinion.

 

Revenge of the Sith, easily. I like the tragedy aspect of it, and it's the most artistic one of the lot.

 

In the long run, its always going to Ep3 or Ep5. Those are two best episodes. So the thread should be which is the best out of those two lol.

 

episode 1 was my favorite. and 5 was my least favorite

 

Empire, with honorable mention to ROTS (for the Order 66 sequence and Battle of the Heroes if nothing else).

Attack of the Clones. And I'm apparently the only one who feels that way

 

RoTS for me. The duel scene between Obi-Wan and Anakin is one of my favorite!

Episode 3 for my PT

 

Attack of the Clones. Most operatic of the films for me, with just the right blend of fantastic action, imagery, and emotion.

 

Wow no ROTJ love.

 

^Not the best, but certainly not the "worst" either. Also keep in mind that they have to be ranked in some order. I don't think any of the SW films are bad...just some better than others.

Empire takes it for me narrowly over ANH

Finally

 

ROTS. Easily the most "adult" (yes, even compared to ESB). It's the meatiest of all and strangely one I watch less than TPM and AoTC (along with ANH and ROTJ) which are far more "fun" and escapist entertainment than ROTS.
