Actually, I've been thinking about reviving that idea of obscure space junk falling on Brooks this morning. :D

Why not just hire a Mandalorian to...take care of him? [face_devil]

Eh, I like the "obscure space junk" idea better. Perhaps a piece of the second Death Star that found its way from Endor to Vandelhelm bonks him on the head during a Jets home game?

What if an unnamed Mandalorian used his ship to bump said piece of space junk out of orbit?

Nah, we should somehow get a Mercury capsule in Vandelhelm air space around a Jets game. :p

Or we'll have some bizarre time-travel sequence that would allow shrapnel from DS 2 to go through a time warp a la Abrams' new Star Trek films and hit Brooks on the head. Maybe not kill him, but knock him out for a while, during which he has a strange dream sequence in which he sees sugarplums dancing. And he doesn't know what sugarplums are.

    Either that or Oompa-Loompas.

He could trip on a clump of sod during pre-game warmups and fall flat on his face breaking his nose and knocking out 5 teeth. Of course ELL concussion safety rules would also come into play forcing him to miss the game (and ultimatly end his career).

X-wing pilots shake off concussions. Limmie players can't do the same?

The easiest thing to do would be to demote the Jets.

But that would be too predictable, methinks.

Here is how we get rid of the Jets, but it is predicated on the Miners winning the title game next week. Then it comes out that Brooks and some other Jets players threw the game for a gang of Hutts who were playing the gambling angle. Brooks and the others are forced from the game in disgrace and the Jets are demoted/disbanded. :p

But the assumption would be that the Jets would somehow lose. Because they seem to have this track record of not losing very often . . .

Even if they don't lose we can still use the "some Jets players tried to throw the game" angle. ;)

Besides I am sure the Miners will win. I know a guy...

Oh, I'm sure Trieste will come up with something interesting if there's a unanimous vote to get rid of the Jets. :p

Depends on who else is coming into the league, but yeah I am sure he has some plot up his sleeve.

My question is... are we staying with ten teams or expanding to twelve?

Right now I am intending to stay with ten teams. There is not a tenth player team right now, so we're looking at still being at nine. One of the prospective players I had lined up wasn't able to find time for the game. As for dropping the Jets, they will absolutely not be throwing the Galactic Cup Final. Commissioner's ruling: in the event I win, I do not want an asterisk next to my name in the record books. :D

As for replacing the Jets...possible. But you should all know with Dubya's departure that the Rangers are now eligible to return to the league...

So if we are losing the Chiefs :( and gaining the Starkillers are we going to keep the Jets, or replace them with the Rangers?

As for that asterisk, I don't blame you. But you have to get past the Jets first. Good luck!

and I mean that, I would hate for an NPC team to win the title...again. :p

That would be ideal. Has he even been back to the new boards?

EDIT: A quick look at his profile says he hasn't signed on since the move..

He wasn't even active on the temp boards. While he's welcome back, I'm not holding my breath for his reappearance.

    --EDIT--

Remember what jcgoble3 said about how much fun you can have with an NPC team? I'm taking that to heart in my pull-out-the-stops Galactic Cup Final posts. :D

Super 16 Division Finals are now posted. Someone will be very sad, while the other player team will be rather ecstatic. Film at 11!

EDIT: I just had a really good or really bad idea; depends on what you guys think.

Since I have nothing better to do, apparently, I was thinking of tossing together a mock draft. Now, these would just be my observations garnered from thinking about this too much over the last two weeks, but perhaps my analysis would prove useful for someone.
