Like said in the title if Star Wars does crash and burns with Disney what is your back-up plan. Run and escape the Star Wars apocalypse or pitch a tent and try to salvage the pieces?

As far as I'm concerned that's what Disney is already doing.

Who? When? Where? Surely my response doesn't need that much more embellishment. I think Star Wars has been in tatters for a while now, Disney can't make this franchise's image sink any lower. Heck, the main reason I'm enthusiastic about the Disney take over is that they may raise the bar to adequate levels. With Kathleen Kennedy and Michael Arndt, and the Marvelverse movies being an example of what the Disney studio can do with pre-existing IPs, the franchise can possibly even end up better than that! And if the films are bad then they'll just join The Clone Wars on the Rotten Tomato meter (19% rotten rating. That sure qualifies as a stinker.) There is literally nothing at stake to lose.

The ST will not go horribly wrong. Even if they don't pick up where VI left off, it will still be amazing. The SW universe is so vast and complex that an original story set in that universe will be thrice as awesome. George is finally letting someone else play in his sandbox, and it's about time.

EDIT: Do we still say thrice?

Back-up plan? Deal with it and move on. I've got Blu-Rays from the PT and OT which should last awhile, and if the worst thing that happens to me in the next few years is hating the ST, I'm looking at a pretty fantastic next few years.

Yeah, hypothetically, I would be disappointed, but then I'd have my revenge à la fan fiction:D

For starters I'll make a three hour youtube review followed by a 300 page fan fiction script of Episode VII. Then I will go back and watch the actual film until I have every line memorized, go on message boards and explain why lines like "I don't know where you get your delusions, laser brain" are the pinnacle of film art.

That or just watch something else.

"Horribly wrong" implies people with too many preconceived notions about everything that comes from being stuck in the EU to having the wrong idea about Disney. Someone could think the movie will be horribly wrong if:
    1) There are no Jacen Solo or whatever those names are, Timothy Zahn characters, etc.
    2) If Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill aren't there.
    3) If Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill are there.
    4) If the movie isn't in 3D.
    5) Ironically, I can see if one doesn't like the movie, he will blame it on a lack of Lucas' involvement.

I would cry into my Cheerios every morning and bemoan that Disney raped my childhood... Oh wait, it's just a movie so who cares?
