Wow, you need to get some new friends. I've slowly gotten of mine into it. I actually had a convo with another of the managers at work today about the Slaver arc.

There are only two people in RL who watch TCW with me, and I gave birth to both of them.

The Clone Wars could be stretched out to 8 seasons; one more reason to be optimistic.

I am an Ahsoka fan, and those shots have me in absolute ecstasy even right now.

And yeah, break's seemed a lot shorter...not that I'm complaining or anything...

Stretched is the key word here. If after 4 seasons they felt the need to revive Darth Maul then 8 seasons has me very concerned.

In case you somehow missed it, it's been revealed in multiple interviews that the return of Darth Maul was demanded of TCW crew by George Lucas. So we know for a fact it was not the case that the writing team simply ran out of ideas and decided they had to bring him back for lack of other/better ideas. It was GL.

What's GL going to demand in season 7 or 8, though? Jango? Yaddle? My point still applies.

Yeah, resurrecting a dead character for no other reason than some members of the fandom thought the character was cool and shouldn't have died, is lame no matter whose idea it was.

And yet Maul turned out to be good thing for TCW, IMO. For one we have a villain who genuinely threatening, competent, and has developed motives at long last. Yeah, still lame its Maul.

"It was only GL" is the worst excuse I've heard, and doesn't mean it won't happen again in the future. If they've basically given up showing the Clone Wrs in season five, what's it going to be like in, say, season seven?

First sentence is highly debatable. However, Maul has been shown to be genuinely threatening and his fate is undetermined, yes. I think a Dark Acolyte could've easily taken this position, in my honest opinion, though.

Well I certainly feel that despite learning of Maul's return might be the wrong decision, for me it has worked. Maul has brought a lot more to this show, he's a breath of fresh-air, a proper villain who doesn't have a predefined fate. He's a good character to push Obi-Wan further. For me it has worked and it was a good idea to bring him back.

It would have been far more original to simply create a new threatening villain instead of resurrecting a dead one.

And for my contribution to the optimism side: maybe in the next few seasons we will see a cool new villain, preferably a girl. I'm reading Fatal Alliance right now and I'm somewhat impressed with Ax.

It means the chances of the Sun Guard and Maladians appearing in the series has gone up. Just what the show needs(that, and more episodes like "A Sunny Day in the Void")
