You guys are having a pointless argument. Phish's version is intentionally stupid... Jon Fishman does stuff like that for a laugh. It wasn't intended to be listened to as a genuine cover. His Purple Rain is even better... he/they did a Katy Perry song a while back, too, I think.

 

That's kinda what I was trying to tell her. And I prefer Fishman's Sexual Healing to his Purple Rain

 

You failed by expecting her to get it, she failed by not recognizing a joke when she saw one.

Not all Fishman's covers are terrible jokes, though... some of them are quite ****ing good.
