I'm far too lazy to read through the previous eight pages of this thread, so I'm just going to say this in the hopes that no one else has already pointed it out:

TCW sure loves its unnecessarily cackling villains doesn't it?
"Mwuahahaha I'm a clearly eastern european diner owner and I'm SOO evil. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-AHA-AHAHAHA-AHA"

Nope, this definitely would have sucked. The thing about the clone wars cartoon series is that it tells all types of stories, even the ones that we don't like that add to the overall series and connectivity between Episode 2 and 3. This was something that the clone wars multi-media could never do.

    Uhhh... thanks, I guess?
I don't get what you're on about. My suggestions, apart from narrowing down some locations and streamlining the flow a bit, would leave the stories within the arc unchanged.

WAC is funny, but Jar Jar along with Episode 1 sucked the big one. Couldn't do it back then and can't do it now. Funny thing, the Jar Jar in the clone wars cartoon series is pretty good.

I guess I'm in the minority but I thought that this arc was pretty deep, and have enjoyed all three episodes.

You're also in the minority that anything other than Lucas developed EU is invalid.

Ya'll know I don't give a crap about clones, but even I was slightly surprised they (apparently) killed him off so fast. I kept waiting for him to escape somehow, I thought he'd come leaping out of the fire, or the droids would go back for him.

Personally I don't care if he's dead, but I know many of you do, so I hope he made it just for the community's sake.

It was until the next episode seemed to erase all development between the pit droid and Gascon. This arc is really doing a very bad job of making me care about the astromechs: even R2. If the pit droid or Gascon were to suddenly die, the arc would change for me, in a twisted endearment sort of way.

This episode was...okay. Completely stupid moments like the diner cackling like a Bond villain (that's seriously the most threatening thing, a cook?) or the guy bringing in his old equipment instead of destroying it...

Watching Gregor escort these idiots to the ship is like watching a trained Marine squad evacuate a group of clown hostages to their bulletproof clown car: it's funny but not ha-ha funny.

I'm waiting for the last episode of the arc to see if I should bother watching this. I was originally hoping for 3-4 episodes with Gregor, TBH.

Sums up my general philosophy for posting on TFN.

Anyway, I still haven't seen the episode, so no spoilers! Even if you post them, Ima not read anything for another 8 pages, so hah!

Can this arc just be over already? The show hasn't been this boring since Padme's poison tea adventures.

Blowing up would be me on the Revival thread, or the Mortis threads in general. This is a breeze compared to those storms.

I think "Revenge" sticks out in my mind for rough episode threads. Maybe blowing up just referred to the thread moving fast which it was earlier.

couldn't tell the sham of a philosophical story that this arc has been doing? I find that very hard to believe. The multimedia project of 2003-05 told lots of varied stories.

Decent episode overall. Nice Malachor reference. D-squad, at least the people who talk and get all the screen time, annoy me.

Gregor was cool. Sullustian restaurant owner was ridiculously evil.

Though I liked Gregor's storyline, I can't help but feel if WAC had made the clones sound like slaves then Gregor might have a little bit of a 'well if I go back there I might die and I'm a slave, here I'm safe but bored and a slave'. That would've been a nice little choice for him to have made.

Nice Malachor reference. Damn you TCW, making me pay attention.

With our spoiler stuff thankfully resolved I'm going to weigh in on this episode and I think there are some interesting points to look at. I don't agree at all that Mr. Borkus was an evil character - at least not in a pure sense. He seemed almost nuanced to me, as was his relationship with Gregor(either intentionally or unintentionally).

Borkus is a really interesting character in many ways. He's eeking out an existence on a tough backwater world, likely all by himself. He saves Gregor from his crash, gives him a job and a place to live. Now there is no doubt that Borkus's motives were selfish - maybe he really was just in desperate need of a dish washer - or maye he was a tough but lonely guy who was willing to do some unsavory things to save someone he'd come to know as a friend. Borkus might just have been looking for a friend in his own way.

He strikes me as far from the evil character that so many are making him out to be. Borkus is of course charged with making Gregor his "Slave".....which either intentioanlly or unintentionally plays towards the ideas that the Clones themselves are slaves of the Republic. Is Borkus better or worse than the Republic? He gave Gregor a life of sorts, one that wasn't forcing him to kill or be killed - a safe life, a more normal life, if not a completely comfortable one.

He could have done much worse to Gregor. Presumably the CIS would be interested in giving rewards for Republic Clone Troopers - but he never turned him over to them. That certainly would have been the most profitable way to go - at least thats my speculation. Its crazy to say, but I think Borkus is one of the most nuanced characters we have seen in TCW in a while.

Past all this stuff that got my brain turning this is a pretty bland epsiode. Gascon and the Droids are still basically fingernails across a blackboard and Gregor getting his memeory back, without us ever really being told that he got his memory back, was really weak. I get that his head shaking after he bumped it in the diner was suppost to be that moment, but it would have been much better if they gave us a line just to not make me rewind the damn show to try nad see what I missed.

Alright, I just watched it, and I thought it was pretty good, Gregor is now one of my favourite characters from TCW :D The end scene was great, but did Gregor actually die? Because it didn't feel like he did. Something tells that me he survived that, because he was only blasting the tanks around the Droids and ducking for cover, plus he had some pretty strong armour. They wouldn't just introduce a character like that and kill him off straight away, I hope he's in more episodes fighting with some of other Clone Commandos on special missions. But overall it was a very good episode.
