Speculation Episode VII Plot Wishlist

I have looked around and i do not think there is a thread about this.

What are some of the things you wish to see in Episode VII in 2015?

What are some things you do not want to see?

Any returning characters from previous movies or episode of Clone Wars?

 

I don't want to see any reject characters appear. As in designs that Lucas reject for the Prequels then get developed for the future movies. Like seems to be the craze in the comic books & E.U.

A new idea for future movies could be a bunch of new Sith lords trying to fill the vacuum left by Emperor & Vader with them allied & disregarding the rule of two. With them thinking the rule of two was a failure & a need to go back to the old Sith ways.

 

Want to see:

• Age-appropriate actors.
• Relatively unknown/up-and-coming actors for the main leads.
• Sith
• Jedi
• Epic space battles.

Do not want to see:

• Re-casting
• Re-boots. Definitely no re-boots.
• Resurrection of Vader.
• Poor dialogue.
• Lightsaber gimmicks.

What I wish for is.....

I want....
- Ben Skywalker & Jaina Solo to be the heroes including Starkiller. Jacen & Anakin Solo also.
- Mara Jade Skywalker as old as Luke.
- Treacherous jedi secretly mastering the power of the Sith.
- More female Jedi.

I don't want...
- Vader coming back!

Returning characters...
- The return of Luke as a master Jedi & mentor.
- Obi-Wan, Yoda, Anakin & Qui-Gon as force ghosts.
- Han & Leia Solo
- Ashoka & Ventress

 

I really hope Ashoka survives the Clone Wars show because she could play a role in the ST. It would also be nice to bridge the gap between the PT time and the ST time. Does anyone know what the lifespan is for a Togruta? I know wookies and hutts can live for a few hundred years. Just a thought.

 

For fear of starting another war on the perception of Vader I'll just say that the villain needs to be interesting and hold our interest for the whole trilogy. Or give us an interesting backstory. We need to care about the villain.
Vader in ANH-Black Suit, how did he get it, what was his relationship like with Obi-Wan and Anakin,
In ESB-Why was he looking for Luke, why was he chasing Han and Leia, what are the powers of the dark side, why did he want to turn Luke to the Dark Side, was he Luke's father?
In ROTJ-How was it that he was Luke's Father, what would his fate be etc?
None of the PT villains were that interesting.
Could they hold our interest for 3 movies?
Nute Gunray, Darth Maul, Jango Fett, Count Dooku, General Grievous?
Unlike Vader's fate we knew that all of the villains in the PT would die except for Sidious

 

It would be nice for the story to take place after the events of rotj. Plus, if there is a show, it'll take place after Vader & Sidious were defeated and how young Luke met Mara Jade & built the new Jedi Empire.

 

I want to see Leia as a Jedi Master.

 

No politics.

 

I honestly don't care what is in the film, just as long as it is good and it slots into the end of Return of the Jedi neatly.

 

I want the BIG 3 recast, just to piss people here off.

Rather cliché, but I want originality; something new. The PT and OT had to mirror each other in certain aspects, to depict how Luke and Anakin are similar, but chose different outcomes. I most certainly don't want the ST to follow this route.

 

+1. I'm not sure I really have any plot ideas for the film, however I will say that I wouldn't mind seeing less Jedi/Sith than the PT and the film having a bit more of a gritty type feel to it. One thing that always seemed to prevent my full enjoyment of Star Wars was the seeming lack of realistic violence. I'd still like to see force users play an overall part, but I definitely wouldn't mind some of the story focused on non force-user characters and set in places that aren't as sqeaky clean as some of the places shown in the other movies (bottom levels of Coruscant, Nar-Shadaa type planets etc).

See. My fear is if the movie takes place after the Fate of the Jedi book series, then they might have a problem with explaining past events. Its a lot of Lore for them to just skip over. any ideas?

 

1) They don't explain it. Jania Solo is just their daughter. Nobody mentions they had two other dead kids. Ben Skywalker is just Luke's kid. Nobody mentions who the mom was. Chewbacca is not there. Nobody mentions why.

My list right now looks is probably this:

*Luke to have daughter who's the main protagonist
*Han and Leia to have twins(preferably 1 boy and 1 girl)
*No superweapons
*No time travel
*New aliens, weapons, vehicles and locations
*Several epic lightsaber duels
*At least one decent sized space battle(same for land)
*Sith to be involved somehow
*No Mandalorians(I like them but they seem to be pop up everywhere and are a bit overused IMO)
*Bit of mystery
*Film should be funny overall not dark and brooding ala TDK/TDKR
*Force ghost appearance(s) (but don't over do them)
*No rehashed plot points
*R2D2 and C3PO to have cameos at least
*No shoehorned TCW characters(I'm looking at you Ahsoka )
*Somebody using a Holocron
*A decent sized Jedi Order that has at least double digit numbers
*No resurrecting/cloning dead characters, or characters who are presumed to have died, especially Vader, Palpatine, Boba Fett and every good guy who's died thus far

 

Man you got it so right well said It can easily be done....I said the same sort of thing on the EU page & got shot down .

 

I'm not sure; they've been quite explicit in claiming the EU will not effect any of their decisions. Majority of us have expected major alteration will take place within the cannon.

They don't need to say anything. The Vong War is 20 years ago. The Second Galactic Civil War... could be easily retconned as not as big as once thought to be... "just a tiff between planets"

Abeloth? Not sure who all knows about her in the galaxy. I wouldn't worry about it. Take a few years off, say in the opening crawl that since the Empires fall, it has been a tough road filled with trials. No one needs to know the trials, no inside EU jokes or references, however use Jaina and Ben, maybe even Jag as the protagonists. Then lets Han Leia and Luke settle into Retired Diplomat, Retired Pilot, and Jedi who never leaves the council chambers (at least until 8).

Let the new villian be in contest with Jaina and Ben, don't pull Luke out for every problem like they do in the EU. It should be easily done should they choose to. Chewie and others could come back and we could have a retcon return... I don't know if they could do a Secret Invasion like arc to bring them all back.

The only EU references I could see would be if they keep mara dead, she might get a passing mention, the vong might get a passing mention and thrawn might get a passing mention. They may include EU Jedi within the Order, but not necessarily.

 

How do you guys feel about having Ahsoka show up in episode VII. I for one would love that. I'm a huge fan of hers.

I defiantly want for there to be a mystery feeling like in AOTC.

 

Would I mind if there was a female togruta Jedi who sat on the council who was refered to as Master Tano and maybe got one line? No not at all. It would be cool.

Would I mind if Ashoka Tano was one of the main characters who was busy doing things with the Original Cast? Yes, that is unacceptable
