Is Kathleen Kennedy too old?

She is 59 and i know that isn't really 'old' but in 10 years she could be ready to retire. Then we have to all hope someone else that is as y good gets star wars. I think with her past record Star Wars is in good hands but would be nice for someone that could work with Star Wars as long as Lucas has now. Or is that what Star Wars needs? Someone fresh at the head of it ever 10-15 years?

 

Well, she was brought was brought in because she is "old guard" and wants the job. In 10-15 years she will transition the company to someone else that has been properly vetted.

As far as the next potential person? I don't think it matter much at this point. I'm sure it will play out fine.

Don't worry. In 10 years I'll be in a position to take over and the first thing I'll do is green light a brand new Gungan Adventure TV movie.

Actually, if I was ever put in charge of Lucasfilm, aside from the stories I'd want to create and tell, one of the first things I'd do is expand the animation department and start working on doing Direct to video adaptations of existing stories like Shadows Of The Empire, KOTOR, maybe Tales Of The Jedi etc along the lines of what Warners Animation have been doing with their DC animated movies.

 

She's pretty cute for a 59 year-old.

 

FIrst time I do was make a good cool Indiana Jones cartoon series! It is prefect for a cartoon series! but no, disney says they put not value in to the indiana jones line

 

very, she keeps herself in shape thats for sure.

She doens't have to do anything but oversee the franchise, basically say "yay" or "nay." She could do that unbtil she's 80 . . . I'd hope.

Most of the bigtime producers are middle aged and older. I'd rather have a seasoned veteran like Kennedy whose been a producer for over 30 years than some young buck with very few if any battle scars. Kennedy is rich enough that she could've retired years ago but she loves her profession and my guess is she will keep being a producer for the next couple of decades at least.

 

When 900 years old you reach, look as good as Kathleen Kennedy you most certainly will not.
