Tunes they have like 10 audition cities around the country so there's no benefit to living in LA except that if I got on the show I wouldn't have to spend money on a flight or hotel.

So we have to write up five different one sentence interesting stories or facts about ourselves. So far I only have one about attack-jugging Bob Dole when I was 10. They advize also to include tidbits about collecting or hobbies.

 

You have to come up with a Chiefs related sentence.

 

I guess we were coin toss captains once, but we sent my mom out onto the field. I used to go to a women's football clinic every year for charity where we sat in a theatre and watched game film with the players. Something in there might be boring enough.

God, there's a reason I always fast forward this section of the show.

One thing I know they always ask a lot about are the Presidents, dates of office, some basic facts. Where should I study up (aside from Jonathan Coulton songs, obviously)?

 

How about telling them you collect restraining orders keeping you from Kevin Spacey? If that doesn't work then tell them you spent a year living with a tribe of bushmen in the Kalahari.

 

Tell them you collect friends on the internet.

I do a lot of Sporcle geography quizzes so world capitals and sites are stronger in my mind than US Presidents. The first 50 years and the last 100 years of US Presidential history are solid in my mind, but then there's that nebulous area in between that's mostly occupied by some facts about Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln. I know about assassinations because of Sondheim. If only HBO would make a miniseries about the rest of it, I'd be set.

I think one look at my complexion would give that away as a lie, since if I'd lived in the Kalahari I clearly would be completely covered in cancer.

There was an old tournament of champions winner that explained that he didn't think he'd win on modern Jeopardy because when he competed, he could read fast and then buzz in ahead of time, but they've since implemented a system where you have to wait for the question to be fully read first.
