Welcome once again Darth Vrook. Here I am known as Darth Valiant. I see that you were once a Jedi. But now you are interested in joining the Dark Side and learning the ways of the Sith. Good. Keep in mind that becoming a Sith were will be no easy feat. There will be many tasks and challenges ahead of you. Each time you complete a task you will earn Dark Side points.

Your first set of instructions is to simply create a signature that states that you are my apprentice in the AOD. You also must keep your Dark Side Point score in your signature too. Your signature could be something like "Apprentice to Darth Valiant in the AOD (Dark Side Points: 0)" or any variation of that. Please note that you will not be given points for creating a signature. Later, I will assign you your first task. If you have any questions feel free to send me a PM. That is all for now.

First task: Create your own Sith Code. Then write a minimum of two paragraphs that A) explain why you created your Sith Code and B) give reasons why your Sith Code would be effective. There is no word count limit. You will earn a maximum of 5 DSPs if I am satisfied with the results of your task.

Ah a new apprentice, i shall make your first task a simple one.

First Task
I want you to pick your favorite sith from any era and write 3 paragraphs about him. One should be about his rise, one about his rein and the third one should be about why you think he failed in his pursuits. There is no word count and the Maximum DSP of 5 will be awarded upon completion depending on how well you do.

I trust you can do very well here do not make me wrong apprentice good luck.

 

Rise reign fall : Bane

Darth Bane deactivated his lightsaber and Qordis, his former master, collapsed lifeless before his eyes. The rest of the sith assembled before him expressed shock, though none dared step forward and challenge him. Bane then gestured, and his former master’s lightsaber appeared in his hand. He paused to consider its construction then spoke. “In his arrogance, my former master failed to comprehend what the sith embody in essence at their core. As you all well know, we have just been defeated by the jedi in a long, drawn-out war of attrition. For many years, there have been near as many sith as jedi. This is despicable. Sith hierarchy dictates only one master and only one apprentice. In other words, I declare the rule of two in absolute terms. There can only be two. This is what Revan taught. More than two sith weakens us as a whole and leaves us vulnerable to the jedi. The sith are not an order, but are an idea. An idea that attracts followers, and more important, it is an idea that will bring the jedi to their knees."​

While he ruled the sith, Bane sought a powerful successor, one that could one day overthrow him. After the battle of Tython, he chose Zannah as his successor. In the meantime he carefully hid his presence from the jedi and made certain his minions were not discovered. The jedi, blinded as they were by the light, could not comprehend that their ruin was inevitable. The simpletons even thought they had been triumphant over the sith. Idiots. They deserved to whither and die. For a time, the jedi had embraced the powers of the darkside once discovered. Soon after however, they rejected those powers and condemned those who used them. We were forced to defend ourselves because they became the aggressor, and that is why, above all, we must abide the rule of two.​

Ambria proved to be Bane’s final resting place. Zannah fulfilled her duties, surpassing her master and carrying on his teachings. The rule of two lived on, ensuring that each successive sith master would be stronger than the previous one. The jedi did indeed bow before Bane, though not in his lifetime. It took years of hiding and secrecy before the sith were strong enough and Darth Sidious succeeded in creating the first galactic empire – the dawn of the sith golden age.​

 

Very good apprentice, though the last Paragraph was to be were the siths ideals failed which eventually banes ideals did fall. So i will award 4 points for this task. Now i shall think on your next task i will have it for you in a day or two.

 

Second task
Apprentice I want you to write on one of the near extinction events that the sith order has gone through. I want you to write several paragraphs on why this event occurred and who you believe to have caused it whether it is due to internal turmoil or an outside force. Also I'd want at least one paragraph on why you believe that the sith order can keep returning after these events. No word count on this one, no paragraph limit i would just like as much as you can write about on this topic. 7 points are available for this with and extra 3 if you include pictures with your writing so a grand total of 10 dsp are there for the taking if you do well... good luck my apprentice

Name all Sith Ranks and give description. (Sith Warrior, Sith Lord Etc)

Dark Lord of the Sith: This rank originally referred to the ruler of the Sith Empire. It was then later used to refer to the recognized leaders of the Order of the Sith Lords. Before Skere Kaan there was only one Dark Lord of the Sith at a time. Each Dark Lord was the head of the order. The one exception to this were the members of the Dark Council of the Sith Emperor Vitiate's Sith Empire. Vitiate had held the title of Dark Lord at the same time. In more recent periods the title was simultaneously shared by various individuals. While the term Dark Lord of the Sith refers to both sexes some female Sith like Lumiya claimed the title "Dark Lady of the Sith." The title is often thought to be synonymous with the term Darth. However, contrary to this is the fact that Sith apprentices have carried this title as well.

Sith Master: A Sith Master is a title given to a Sith who instructs at least one apprentice in the ways of the Dark Side of the Force. Traditionally speaking, an apprentice was required to kill their Master before they could train their own apprentice. A Sith Master is the Dark Side equivalent of a Jedi Master.

Sith Lord: A Sith Lord (also known as the Dark Lord of the Sith) was a title given to a powerful master of Sith Knowledge regarding the Dark Side of the Force. The title was generally used to refer to both male and female Sith. However, some female Sith such as Lumiya were given the title "Sith Lady" instead. Originally the term Sith Lord was used to refer to the high ranking members of the Sith society race.

Sith apprentice: A Sith apprentice was an individual (occasionally a child) who began serious training under the guidance of a Sith Master. A Sith apprentice was usually chosen by the Master himself or herself. The Master would usually pick an apprentice after the apprentice demonstrated an impressive act of loyalty or cruelty. In some cases an individual pledged themselves to the teachings of the Sith Master in order to become an apprentice. Other situations involved Sith Masters seeking out their students. A Sith apprentice was similar to a Jedi Padawan and their respective relationship with their Master is similar to the relationship between a Jedi Knight and a Padawan. Lastly, an apprentice's time as a student usually ended with his or her death or when the apprentice killed the master. An apprentice killing his or her master led to them obtaining an apprentice of their own and this in turn led to an apprentice ascending to the rank of Sith Master.

Sith Marauder: A Sith Marauder was a Sith Warrior who fought for the Sith Empire during the Great Galactic War and during the Cold War that followed it circa 3,653 BBY. Marauders specialized in dueling involving two lightsabers. They were also known to deal high amounts of damage to enemies during melee combat. Marauders were fueled by things such as hate, rage, and cruelty. When entering a battle Marauders would actually fill themselves with rage and would fuel themselves with the Dark Side. This made a Marauder able to challenge any Jedi and win.

Sith Acolyte: A Sith Acolyte was a rank used during the Sith Order prior to Darth Bane's reformation. It was used to refer to Force-Sensitive apprentices who had just started under the path of the Dark Side. Their teachings were directed by a more experienced Sith Lord.

Sith Adept: A Sith Adept was simply a Sith rank used during the Old and New Sith Wars. The rank was similar to a Sith Acolyte.

Sith Assassin: A Sith Assassin was a term given to a sect of covert Force-sensitive killers. These assassins were secretly founded by Darth Revan. Both captured Jedi and Sith Force sensitives were taken to the Trayus Academy in order to be trained as assassins. The most notable feat of the Sith assassins was their carrying out of the First Jedi Purge that began in 3,954 BBY. They were able to carry this out until they were defeated and made to disband in 3,951 BBY following the Destruction of Malachor V. Instead of engaging in open combat Sith assassins were known to ambush their targets. In order to do this they utilized stealth field generations and the rare act of Force camouflage in order to help with their surprise attacks. Finally, while some assassins fought with lightsabers the majority actually used less remarkable melee weapons like Force pikes.

Sith Spy: A Sith Spy was a rank amongst the Sith during the New Sith Wars. They were trained by the Brotherhood of Darkness in the Ryloth, Umbara, and the Nar Shadda Academies. One particular type of Sith Spies were the Umbaran Shadow Spies.

Hands: The Hands were the members of the One Sith. They were Darth Krayt's most loyal servants and they were trained to carry out his will. In other words the Hands only followed Krayt's orders and always reported back to him. However, by 137 ABY Krayt's only apprentice was Darth Nihl when Nihl's predecessor had suddenly died during the Massacre at Ossus.

Fist: A Fist was a Sith rank given to a Sith Lord who served as a supreme military commander for the One Sith. Like the Hands the positions of the Fist were appointed by Darth Krayt. Darth Nil was known as the main Fist until 131 ABY. However, he was made into a Hand after his predecessor perished at the Massacre of Ossus. Afterwards, starting in 137 ABY Darth Stryfe served as Krayt's Fist in command of the Service alongside with Grand Admiral Morlish Veed.

Sith Tyro: A Sith Tyro was simply an apprentice of the Sith teachings of the Lost Tribe of the Sith. Furthemore, a Tyro was a Sith tribe member who had not yet been chosen to become a formal apprentice.

Sith Saber: A Sith Saber was a rank used amongst the Lost Tribe of Sith on the Planet Keesh. Sith Sabers were also known as Sith Knights. Sith apprentices were promoted to this rank after they completed their formal training under a Master. Whenever a Tribe member was promoted to the Sith Saber rank they were able to customize their robes and acquire possessions. These particular privileges were unavailable to Sith apprentices.

Sith Inquisitor: Sith Inquisitors were a class of powerful Force wielders within the Sith Empire. They operated primarily within the upper political circles. In contrast to Sith Warriors Inquisitors specialized in Force powers rather than martial abilities. Many Inquisitors would devote their time researching new skills in order to survive the political environment of the Sith. They were a spectacle on the battlefield and were known to channel large concentrations of Dark Side energies in order to create massive Force Lightning storms. Inquisitors were also known to drain the life forces of enemies in order to feed themselves and their allies. Most significantly Inquisitors were masters of manipulation and they used this mainly to exploit both enemies and allies to fuel their own agenda. Lastly, few acolytes became Inquisitors, but, those who did usually proved to be the most determined.

Sith Warrior: The Sith Warriors were known as the combat specialists of the Sith Empire. They served as the main fighters of the battlefield and they were entrusted with destroying the Empire's enemies and enforcing Sith domination. Sith Warriors were trained to rely on their fear, anger, and hatred to improve their own connections to the Dark Side of the Force. They did this in order to channel the power through their bodies and to purge weakness from themselves. Warriors differed from Inquisitors in that they had little patience for careful planning. Rather, they demanded absolute obedience from their followers and relied on power and intimidation in order to achieve their goals. However, the blunt methods did not reduce Warriors to single mindedness and Sith Warriors were known to go renegade in order to pursue their own individual agendas.

The rise of Darth Sidious to ultimate power and his quest to rid the Jedi completely from the galaxy is the most prolific example of near Sith extinction. Even though Darth Sidious succeeded in ruling the galaxy, his unquenchable thirst for Jedi blood, and his quest to crush any who oppose him resulted in the downfall of the Galactic Empire and the Sith. Further, because of Darth Sidious’ actions, many now hate the Sith and we must be more cautious than we ever were before. So, in that sense, the downfall in this case was due to internal turmoil and that is what I shall posit though one should not discount the role of the rebel alliance. Moreover, because Sidious applied Bane’s rule of two for Sith in the entire galaxy, Vader’s “family drama” made it possible for the Empire and Sith to fall, thus restoring balance and fulfilling an ancient prophecy about the chosen one and the force.





Neither the Jedi nor the Sith can ignore the need for balance. Where one must fall, another must rise. For the dark side to exist, there must be a light side. That is why neither side can ever be extinct, for if that were to occur, the world would truly be plunged into chaos. There would be no good, no evil. There would be total disarmament and joyous cries to herald bombs falling from the sky minutes later. We would believe everyone to be essentially good, but have no way of knowing what that “good” should be. The only thing to be absolute is that there is no absolute truth. Again, balance. Balance creates the dichotomy that lets us know what Sith are, what Jedi are, what is right, and what is not. When we act, the Sith code binds our actions and we are its servant, when we ourselves become the code as Lord Sidious has, then we will fall.

Our order continues to survive though at times we are but few in number. We can never be fully eradicated. The Sith are an idea. The idea of the Sith transcends the order of the Sith. Furthermore, the Sith teachings are scattered throughout every habitable planet in our galaxy. Even our most guarded secrets can be learned from essences of dead Sith stored in holocrons that detect the level of the user before handing out knowledge. Eventually, anyone strong enough in the force and dedicated to the Sith can become a Sith master simply through the use of holocrons because the Sith essence stored on the holocron will act as the teacher. Our order continues to survive though at times we are but few in number. We can never be fully eradicated.



Even though Darth Sidious unintentionally orchestrated the near extinction of the Sith Order, there were still those that continued on the Sith Tradition. Following Darth Sidious’ death, Darth Lumiya and Darth Krayt progress in the dark side of the force, gain followers, and again pose a threat to the New Republic and the Jedi – maintaining balance.
